buying a '06 Mini Cooper S. Should I get the JCW kit?

I've decided to get a 2006 Mini Cooper S as my daily driver.

B!tchin Red with a black top and black side mirrors!!!!

Should I get the John Cooper Works Package ($6,300) or should I just go to Lucent?

The JCW Package comes with:

- Limited Slip Differential
- Cold Air Intake
- Engine Mod
- Brake upgrade

So...is it worth it? The JCW comes factory installed for 2006 models and come with full warranty.

JCW is over priced, my normal S is fine for me and the power difference and feel isn't all that much.

go with Arling, JCW is too overpriced for just the warranty Im sure arling would warranty his job it would prob cost you half the amount to reach 210hp. Lsd is an option for an extra 500 and its worth it. to reach 210 all you need is a pulley ,cai, full exhaust ,ecu download ,plugs and your own your way.

Thanks for the input guys. Put my deposit down on a MCS yesterday. Ordered the car with LSD and w/o the JCW kit.

It will be a December build. The car is expected to arrive late Feb/early Mar.

wow just saw this. thanks guys for the kind words but i have to disagree. i owned a JCW car before & loved it. mini is a car that needs the right balance rather than massive power. if i have the chance to do it again it's not even a question for me.

Mel,
i'm not turning u down but just want to offer u my personal opinion. money is urs & i want to make sure u spend it in the best way.

Arling....
After my email with you the other day, I ended up changing my order to include the JCW.

I thank you for your honest opinion. To you, it's more about the car than making a quick buck. I appreciate that.

What do you think about pink HREs for my mini? (just test'in ya )

Nice Simon.

I ended up getting a 2005 SMG M3 (coupe/black ext/cin int). It should be arriving in 3-4 weeks.

Thanks Arling.

Nope, I've not tried SMG before. The closest I got was a drive around the used parking lot at the dealer.

I'm hoping I'll like SMG. I know I wanted to get an automatic since it will be my daily driver, but my CLK 500 was so boring to drive. SMG seems like a good balance between full auto and manual.

it's fun... for awhile. i couldn't handle it after about 2 month. it was just jerky, way too jerky. my passenger was *****ing about it all the time. just not a comfortable tranny afterall. u know sometime late at night u just want a easy drive, nothing fancy, just comfortable. it couldn't give me that.

can't you just put in the auto mode and drive like a regular car?
i don't know. I only drove smg few times but i liked the shifting and yes the jerking was a biotch. My friend kept saying i drove like an *******, but i guess i should have let him drive to see it wasn't me, it was the CAR.
