And you shouldn't have to worry about any problems with the newer year i.e. 03-04 because all of the little bugs should be worked out. I have a 03 and that thing is an absolute blast. The only problem I have with the car is because it has run flat tires the ride is a bit stiff, but if you go back to regular tires the ride smoothes out quite a bit. I was wondering where were you getting the car from.

dbelle,

thanks for the help.
i am thinking of leasing a regualr base cooper because i want an automatic, im tired of driving a stick to work, my wife also wants to drive it to, i am just gonna rummage around the local dealers for lease probably, from what i figured out, i just want a regualr cooper maybe red liek yours looks really great with white stripes, white roof, w/ auto tranny and wing.. nothing more nothing less, do u happen to know how much i should expect the lease will be on the minicooper?
thanks for all your help

Not sure about the lease because I bought mine in full. Make sure to look at Irvine Mini I have heard they are the best for costomer service in the So. Cal area. And I forgot to mention that ALL maintance is covered for 36,000 miles including oil, brakes, and everything else.

i saw the pic of your car it looks great.. i wish i could get a copper s but i think it will mostlikely come down to a regular base cooper, my work doesnt want to pay that much, so i am at a limited budget. ill go take a look at irvine min, i went last night to long beach mini, but they close early went there around 8:30 didint know they close at 8 ill see if i can go tomorrow...

how do u like the mini ingeneral? is it great to drive, i know that it doesnt have a lot of power,, also how is the gas mileage on it?

sorry for all the questions.. i just want to make an informed decision before i commit to anything significant...

do u know how long it takes if i order a mini?

thanks for all your help

I looked at or called every dealer in the U.S, and the best I got for price was MSRP. The gas mileage is great, I got somewhere around 28-30 mpg @ 80-85 MPH and air con. on the whole way from Dallas to San Diego. And the wait was just under 3 months. The car is very cool and fun to drive, if I don't atleast see two people wave a day or have people ask me about the car, I will be surprised.

If you are buying a MINI, your should one way or another come up with the cash to buy the S. The difference is night and day. Bag every other option if need be, just buy the S.

If you stick with your initial decision to get a Cooper, PM dandp on www.northamericanmotoring.com. (Formerly www.minicooperonline.com.) He's a great guy and I'm sure will be very willing to help you out and answer your questions. He has a Cooper with a few mods, upgraded wheels and tires and loves it!

BTW, if gas mileage is a concern, you will do better with the Cooper. No matter what, it'll be a blast to drive!

Good luck!

IN ALL honetsy i would prefer te s but the downside is that it only comes in manual and my wife cant drive manual, we both will be sharing the car.. and to be honets , im tired of driving stick in traffic, that is one of the reasons i am going with an auto, if they came out with an s with auto tranny, now that's the car i want

the mini is still not decided yet... i have to lease it for work purposes....

thanks for all your responses

Yeah so did you get it or not? And it is rumored that the MCS will be availble with a auto tranny with the paddles for the MY05.
