GTR warranty?

I am ready to buy a GT-R and I have a couple of questions. How is your factory warranty affected after you do flash and maybe upgrade the exhaust? If that doesn't violate your warranty, what will? Is there anything I should be aware of other than the high required service charges?
thanks for any info in advance!

With those lifts you have you can change the oil and trans fluid yourself. I hit you up hope you get one soon.

The high service charges cost around $1300 for transmission fluids and both diff fluids every 18000 miles. I don't see that as high.

However. If you reflash the car's ECU, you always run the risk of assuming responsibility. That said, the problem has to be connected to the possible cause, right? We have had a GT-R owner who reflashed (with Cobb Stage 1) and had a transmission issue fixed under warranty.

As far as exhaust, Nissan's long time position (regardless of model) is that anything after the sensors is ok. Because the ECU can correct for these conditions. So Y-pipe back is fair game.

Being as you don't have to hit any 'secret' switches for launching the car now, the only recommendation I would make is that don't turn off VDC unless stuck in mud or snow.

When I track, I enable VDC-R and it hasn't come on (except once when I was headed off track).

*edit: In Japan, these intervals have almost doubled, and all of the costs of products have decreased.

Well I just picked the car up today so I will have to learn about all the buttons to push etc, although I was very specific with the dealership about the tranny warranty and my car has the new program so TC won't be an issue according to them. I had never driven a GT-R before today and I was surprised how quick the car feels and agile the car seems compared to its footprint.

Congrats Jamie! You will love your GT-R. As with any warranty and mods, The mod has to be in direct correlation to the failure. Go on to Nagtroc.org for more GT-R specific questions and knowledge. As for servicing the GT-R, its not anymore expensive than a Porsche.

Thanks! I really like it so far and I don't see any reason for that to change.

Congrats Jamie, when you hit the track let me know so I can hook up with you, roadrace or drag! Also just play with the 3 mode buttons and find what you like best, but its going to be RRR for fun driving and normal for other times.

Thanks! I will, but I am going to take my time breaking it in and enjoying it! But I wouldn't mind coming out watching you guys when you hit the track and maybe I will bring one of my other cars. I am thinking about racing spec miata's as I don't really like to drag race in the summer and a friend of mine turned me on to Long Racing which rents the cars and pit crews and its really cheap for what you pay and that way I will be able to keep my SCCA license up to date.
