On the fence

I was thinking about a new toy/daily driver via a used gr-t. Couldnt find answers in search mode so if anybody have had the gt-r with some milealeage on it I would really like to hear from you on any issues that you find great about the car or not so great. Also the stock form would be really nice to hear from because I promised th family---NO MODING--this time. Hmm, maybe just a chip.

Well I just got rid of my 2009 GT-R yesterday. I put 19700 miles on her and she was completely stock. Easily one of the better daily drivers I've ever had, my only complaint was the interior room since my friends and I aren't exactly small people. Otherwise the car was flawless, just be ready to pay for any parts that aren't covered under warranty and put a clear bra on the front and rear.

Any other questions just ask. I say do it!

As for the 50k area comment: do you have a GT-R? Do you know what they are ACTUALLY worth with 10-20k on the odo? No offense but don't make generalized statements when they are not supported by facts. Reason: my car was worth 56k (according to dealer) and my brother's (9232 miles on it) was worth 58 according to the offer. Yes I got more but where do you get your information?

2 so far - both crashed parts cars (R35's) 1 frame now and 1 roller with motor.

3 - R32 GTS-T's (Sold).
2 - R33 GTS-T's (Sold).
1 - R33 GTR Vspec (sold)
1 - HKS DR30 Nissan Skyline GT - 500 hp Fj20 motor. (Sold)
1 - 71 Nissan KGC110 Ken&Merry GTR body 260z motor (sale pending).

It all depends on the area and if a local dealer has a buyer lined up ready to buy it off your hands and might be able to get lucky and get sticker price or get the low ball offer and get what you mentioned and it really comes down to the area. All I can say as much as you can agree its great with a dealer since you have been paid cash out right and not dealing with a finance/loan/drama that comes with a high dollar sale like this .

No offense
none taken

but don't make generalized statements when they are not supported by facts.
Not making a generalized statement when I have seen R35's sell salvaged for this price and non salvaged repaired R35's sell in the mid and sub 50k range.

Talked with people who have gotten deals as well seen what one of my friends/customers just picked up a car for $60k with about 4500miles on it.

I think the depreciation will be short lived since only 200 cars have been imported for 2011. Prices on the R35's will go back up soon since there are a lot of people waiting for prices to dip.

^ True story. I retract my previous impression of your knowledge of GT-Rs. I do agree that anything in the 50s would be used/ possibly abused but I think the market will start to level out so that they will be worth something someday.

Might I add, mighty fine collection you mentioned...

I don't think there is something 'specific' to look out for. Anybody who had LC1 got a free pass if they updated to LC2.

I think that was the only real issue. If you're looking for an '09, just check and see if the steering column was replaced (TSB).

Expect around $60k +/- $5k. I've seen some well kept ones for around $70k. It depends on your deal, for sure. But I'm not sure of sure of too much more than a few minor issues that one could classify as 'unmarketable' unless it was involved in an accident.

no prob's , I do agree but there are so many buyers in the EU market waiting for the prices to dip to buy a used gtr since they pay well over in the $140,000 new and USED about the same price what they sell for new in the USA.

Also on since USA Spec cars are more favorable then gray market imports from japan because the EU market has adopted some strict laws for emission's and safety laws that are the same as the California emissions & US federal law.

Might I add, mighty fine collection you mentioned...
Thanks .

I have been around this since "RS AKIMOTO" was trying to import the R32' in 1993.
