how long will the r35 look current?

interested in the gtr but wouldnt want to purchase something that will look out of date in a few years. It took a long time for this major makeover from the original skyline so does that mean this car will look the same for many years?

Mizuno, the guy behind the GTR said that this model will continue for the next 5 years. So no worries.

I think he is asking how long will the GTR's "new" appeal last? For example, the new Mustang looked pretty cool to me for about 2 months.. now it already looks "dated".

I think the GTR looks futuristic, and should have a lasting appeal.

I think it's an opinion.

It depends on the consumer - I think the Aston Martin DB7 is dated, and can't even consider one where as the Vantage is timeless.

I think the 360 is phenomenal, whereas the 355 looks a decade older.

The NSX is one of those cars that has aged well (saw a 1994 NSX in red last weekend, and I loved it).

Then you have cars like the Viper, and the 911 that haven't really changed since their inception (to include the NSX), and it keeps the older designs more 'current' (I believe), simply because the old ones still resemble the new ones.

I think the R35 will look current until a model comes out that looks that much newer.

I think the GT-R looks so different from most other cars that it will remain an icon for as long as you own it. Will it look dated? Does a Stradivarius violin look dated? Just my $0.02.

They sell roughly 70,000+ Mustangs per year. Total GT-Rs sold to date is barely over 4,100 (in the last 3 model years).

I thought Camaros looked nice for the first week or so, but now that I see 20-30 of them everyday, I can't stand to look at them anymore.

I think at this very slow production pace, it will take quite a while before GT-Rs start looking old....if ever.

Based on your numbers above 1 in 73,170 people in the USA own a GT-R.
And after adding the 2012 production, this drops to 1 in 55,555 people.

By comparison, probably about 1 in 400 people own a Mustang in the USA!

Hi

Is 4,100 global sales or just in US? Do you have a link to the numbers?

Thanks
