Need help for GTR upgrade...

I just got myself a 2012 black edition...

I'm looking for a 600-700hp but I don't want to change the turbo's and intercooler...

I all ready have some stuff on the car:

ASR Load Control Module
ASR Downpipe
Meistershaft Exhaust.

But between you and me I really don't like the exhaust it's way to LOUD...

I wish I would start over again... what would you refer me to do.

I would like to have a kit that I could go to the dealer without any problem.

Check out all the upgrade packages from the different vendors, I went with Switzer for mine, it started out at the P600 package then changed to the P700 and changed finally to the P800, all before receiving the car. Which is hopefully next week! There exhaust is not loud and has had no problems at tracks where they regulate the noise level. the downpipe is the loudest part because they usually leave out the cat's which muffle it a bit. Switzers P700 kit only modifies the stock turbo's and they are the same ones for the P800 which is an easy upgrade. You might try to just get downpipes with high flow cat's in them and that should help with the noise and emission testing. Hope this helps bit.

The Meistershaft exhaust is probably the loudest out there. I have an AAM resonated midpipe (90mm) back to a T1R 90mm rear exhaust. I picked the T1R because it has similar "baffling" as the stock exhaust and HUGE twin resonators. It is quiet when I want it quiet (around town and cruising on the highway) and loud when I get on the throttle.

I think you are talking about 600-700hp at the crank (as opposed to at the wheels). Full exhaust, upgraded injectors, 3" intakes, and a good high boost tune should get you to about 550-565awhp (625-650hp at the crank) on 93 octane. Upgraded fuel pumps and a E85 tune might get you to around 585-600+awhp (675-725hp at the crank). You have the bigger turbo inlets from the factory, but some people either port the '12/'13 inlets or go with bigger aftermarket ones. You might see a few hp from those upgrades but might not be worth it from a $ to hp perspective if you have to pay someone to do the labor.

You already have the 12/13 turbo inlets on your car so I wouldn't even worry about those. What are you really geared towards making horsepower wise, 600+ or 700+, most the kits from different vendors are all going to be pretty similar compared to one another. Just depends on what kind of service and warranty you want to have from the Tuners. This was very important to me and that is why I chose who I did.

Explain by what do you mean about going to the dealer without any problem, most tuners prefer to have you not have the dealerships hook up there computers due to installing some firmware updates that will mess with the tunes, most dealers don't mind due to that is less work for them.

How are you liking the car overall, especially daily driving it?

I would like to custom this car, but since it's a 2012 with a full warranty I would like it to not be void...

Has for driving the car as a dd, I really like it and I'm driving it in the snow write now

You have already voided the warranty by playing with the computer and changing out the other parts on the car, but that really all depends on how cool your dealer is to mods on the car. Granted those are light mods but it just depends on the dealership. Much more than that and you will definitely void the warranty, but how long do you plan to keep the car?

You are lucky that the dealer is ok with mods!! Most are not that friendly. Who are you looking at for modding?

I was dealing a lot with vividracing for my 997tt, but they are far away from me...

I ear a lot of good thing about AMS and they are not to far away.

But I really don't know yet kind of starting to shop around, but would really like to find a shop in Canada so it would be less complicated to do the upgrade and tune on the dyno

With simple upgrades you could have your dealership install for you. With a Cobb you can install the tune and you don't have to put it on a dyno and that will save you some money. The different shops pretty much have the different packages already dialed in. For example from Switzer I will get the car and fill-up with a tank of gas from where I live and datalog it and then send the datalog through email and they make the adjustments to my fuel quality and send it right back to me and I upload it to the car, simple process. The companies have already put the time and dyno tuning into the packages so there is not a whole lot of adjustment that needs to be made. From all that I have seen when I was looking at tuning companies I went with Switzer because there customer service after the sale was second to none, they have a 2 year warranty and help out where ever possible. I plan to take my GTR with me when I go to Germany this summer and I wanted a car with a package that can with stand driving on the Autobahn at speed and not have to worry about cooling issues and other little problems that happen when you really use the car for long periods of time, not talking about quick burst to 150mph! They are more under the tuning philosophy like Ruf Porsches, built to be used day in and day out without hesitation just like factory cars. That was what was important to me. By the way they are a little closer to you, they are just outside of Cleveland, Ohio. Just make sure to tell who ever you choose how you truly plan on using the car, i.e. drag race, mile event, highway pulls are tracking, so they can make sure you use the right upgrades.

ABC Nissan in Phoenix is not friendly to any upgrades. I wonder what other dealers in AZ might be ok with mild tunes.
