See, I have a fix for all this.... just stick the VW engine emblem over the Porsche crest on the front hood and your good to go!

Actually, being a former VW and Audi guy I rolled with my old club to a VW hosted event over the summer in the Porsche. I was harrassed as soon as I drove in... even though members of my club knew the President of the club hosting the event. I was surprised I did not get spit on.... very disappointing experience considering I have been in car clubs almost 20 years.

Anyways, I was planning to attend this event but will have to think about it based on this feedback.

VW owns Audi, Lambo, Bugatti and Bentley. I believe Porsce is trying to purchase VW still.

Damn Dave, what GTG was that? Sounds like the "Fremont" thing was all about the attitude instead of the cars. Heck, I'm way out of place at Santana Row but I don't give a wooden nickels on what I drive in. I enjoy being around cars that are mechanically out of this world. Of course like you, it's a bit about guy's going the extra mile to personalize and improve their rides and definetly to drive em!

BTW: have you been to Canepa's in Scott's Valley? I think most Porsche owners have been there but not sure if you had a chance. Great place just to visit. http://www.canepa.com/

Have a great holiday.

When I was in Montery over the summer, I was talking to some of the Lamborghini heads and they said that Porsche is now the major share holder.

Go for it buddy - you can figure out the financial arrangement with my lady since I'm not allowed anywhere near the place when the models are there

Yep, I have even met Bruce Canepa when his operations were in Santa Cruz (Still think they have a shop there). One of my best friends in high school dated his daughter so we did a few work on car nights at the Canepa shop! Very cool stuff, even in the 80's!
