Thanks for the posting. I don't think I'll be able to make it, but at least the weather looks like it'll be clear for the weekend so you guys should have a good meet. There's some nice roads around and on Treasure Island as well. Make sure to take some pics!

I don't understand the need for elitist attitudes among members of this forum. If checking out cars that cost less than a certain dollar amount isn't your thing, there's no need to be condescending. As car enthusiasts, we should be respectful of anyone who takes pride in whatever they drive, regardless of what they can or cannot afford.

And I can understand that as a group of friends, jokes are fun and totally welcome, but there's no need to be rude to someone that's legitimately welcoming anyone interested to their event.

But hey, this is an open forum, say what you want. I just think it's great that some were really excited to see cool cars like Boris's M3 and Knick's Shelby...even if it wasn't the other way around.

Hey Kelvin, it was good to meet you. I think you misinterpreted our comments. We're all car enthusiasts, and it's not a specific marque or dollar value that gets us excited... BUT, there was something to say about the crowd at the last event that makes it not worth the effort to show up.

My apologies, as I spent most of my time ogling the F355 and taking pictures, I didn't really get to know the crowd very much, but understandable. I kinda wish I stayed long enough to see Alvin's Black Series, but really wanted to catch I am legend before I came back up to SF.

Kelvin, considering I'm one of the poorest bastards on this forum, I definitely did not mean to convey an elitist attitude.

But I think most of us were let down by both the crowd that was there (nothing to do with the cars) as well as how the event was represented on this forum.

I dislike and refused to go to any S2000 meets when I had a S2000 or any BMW meets when I had a BMW. Those very people are the ones who convey the elitist attitude you speak off that turned me off from being a member. Imagine my surprise when I show up to what is suppose to be an all inclusive meet and see only members from those two groups.

There is definitely "a crowd" that you might possibly be mentioning that I do not like being around, but I don't have that much experience with the M3 folk. It's unfortunate that there are those that are all about the money and the bling and not about the cars themselves. I suppose such is life, especially with these expensive toys (haha, and they are toys). There'll always be the good with the bad. I can imagine, if I would have been able to experience a meet like Santana Row when I was growing up, it would have been a dream come true for me every weekend. It's still exciting...I suppose I just get a little sad thinking about the prospects that less and less nice cars will show up due to these "crowds."

No worries - all water under the bridge. Those "crowds" don't matter. What matters is:

When are we going to have a 6speed pub crawl?

I feel like I should put in my 2cents about the last event being part of the VW crowd that was there. The majority of the VWs were part of two separate forums. I am part of the GolfMKV group and there was also the WaterCooledMalita forum that also included the older VWs.

For whatever reason, there was a tension that our group could feel when they came in. As stated earlier in this thread, it shouldn't matter to which forum you belong or how much money you have, but rather about your love for cars however that doesn't seem to always show itself. I know the group I was with really appreciated all the different types of cars that did show up.

We were all told that it was going to be a much larger event than it actually turned out to be. We heard about "lots of vendors with loads of free raffles" and "girls" but we ended up with being on the side of a business complex with a truck full of asian cars and nothing to really make it "special". We had expected one thing, got another, and ended up just sticking to who we were familiar with.

I'm done rambling
