Beware of unmarked car - I just got nailed
Black Pontiac G6 with dark tinted windows and standard issue plates.
I passed him on 87 northbound this morning only for him to swing in behind me with his lights and sirens.
First ticket in 25 years - wouldn't give me a warning.

Maybe the same guy....this column came out yesterday:

I know this is probably legit -- but something just doesn't sound right about what this guy is doing. He's pulling people over on his commute to and from work? Is he a CHP officer? Is he even in his jurisdiction? I have no issues with officers in unmarked cars when they're on duty (like they do regularly in many parts of the Hawaiian Islands), but off duty and commuting? Hmmmm.

Gary states "Section 40800 of the state vehicle code says an officer whose main or exclusive duty is to enforce traffic laws must be in a police car "painted a distinctive color specified by the commissioner." So, unmarked cars can't be used exclusively to enforce the rules of the road."

Saw quite a few "semi-marked" CHPs on the freeways yesterday. All white with just the logo on the doors -- no exterior lights or other markings. I can still spot them pretty well -- how many people really drive those huge non-descript American-made cruisers
? -- except some folks who bought them as former police cruisers.

good looking out, Rich. Sorry you got pulled over.
I agree with the 'ditch his ***' sentiments above. You always hear those stories of the punks with normal cars pretending to be undercover cops, pulling people over to rob, car jack, rape, etc. the victim. I tell my girl to never pull over for an unmarked undercover car. Just too risky with all the evil out there.
Easier said than done, I know... :P
