Another Diablo PCA Drive

Great Diablo PCA Drive today through the hills of Livermore and Altamont Pass. It took a little bit of time to get out of Pleasanton, but it was an amazing drive once we were on the winding roads in the hills. The morning was topped off with a stop at Porsche of Livermore and much of the group continued on for a second segment (I had to bail).

Here are a few pictures:

All lined up and ready to go from Vic's in Pleasanton:

That's a great radar warning sign -- I haven't seen it before:

Back into Livermore and waiting for the rest of the group:

Taking a break at Porsche of Livermore -- Gotta love that new Sharkwerks car (doesn't quite look right without the painter's tape )!

Yeah Eugene, it sure was a fun drive. I have another back road to go on now.

It was funny that my wife also mentioned the same sign on pic #2.

Let me know when you're going again and I'll join you. Since I'm not sure I can keep up, you might have to wait for me at the end . I'm really thinking I might do the PSS10s as a Christmas present to me.

I don't usually drive fast when my wife and I go out for a drive; we will probably do the wine tour drive by Lily in Feb. We can sure do a drive before that; I'm not a fast leader but I can probably follow well with the car in front of me.

I still think PSS10s would be a good choice for your driving style. Hope you get the xmas present that you wanted.

Glad you all liked it... and yes, as my first time creating a tour - I would agree the first part driving thru Pleasanton was less than desirable... will make sure we get to the twisties much earlier :-))))))

Here are some photos I posted in FB:

The destination tour in February should be great as we get a peek into Keller's private car collection... details at diablo-pca.org coming soon!

Love the video -- especially the sound of your engine. I thought about taking a video, but decided it was best to keep my hands on the wheel and attention on the road given the pace being set .

Wow -- given how well this tour was done, I wouldn't have guessed that it was your first time creating a tour. It was an amazing drive and very well organized. I know it's a lot of work to do these and really appreciated the opportunity to drive with the group. I'm making it a point to do more of these! Great pictures on FB too. I was in the group of 3 cars sandwiched between the 993s (Steve and Paul?). We had a pretty good pace -- although not as spirited as the lead group .

Lilie,
Great pics and great organizing of the event! Although people drive with different speeds, you and Bela managed to keep everyone together. Great job! Sorry that I had to bail out at Livermore Porsche.
Eugene (the one with the red car )

Thanks for the encouraging comments. I learnt a few things to implement for the next tour: 1). Avoid in town driving
2). Divide the cars into 3 groups depending on the pace

Feb drive is a destination tour.

Mark 5 de mayo. That is gonna be a fun tour in conjunction with Sharkwerks GT3s. We have an awesome route!
