New 997TT owner in East Bay

After much research, I decided to pull the trigger. Bought a 07 997TT yesterday, flying down to LA area to purchase private party. 9500 miles, CPO, Atlas Grey, and as perfect as a used car can get.

All was going perfectly, seller signed the pink over, and jumped into the car to start the road trip home. The ignition cylinder failed, requiring a trip to dealership. Thankfully, I'm covered under CPO, Beverly Hills Porsche took great care of me, car was fixed in less than an hour!

I almost backed out of the deal, but glad I stuck it out. The car performed flawlessly, and needless to say, it's an incredible vehicle.

That said, I'll keep an eye on the Norcal posts, and hope to meet some of you soon. I'm new to expensive cars, and could use a few tips to say the least.

Welcome aboard! Great group of people here from the Bay Area and some good opportunities to get together all year around (since our cars don't have to hibernate ). Are you planning to try out the track sometime too?

I am--but, given the car and it's abilities I'll need either a very beginner-friendly group or some education (racing school?) on the matter. Any recommendations are appreciated!

I'd highly recommend HOD (Hooked on Driving). Even though I had track experience with a Miata before I got my P-car, I definitely benefitted from the coaching they readily provide in the A and B groups. I'll PM some info to you.

Welcome to the club. I would love information on HOD too. I'm on the peninsula.
