Recent experiences at SonicMS, Milpitas

After many recommendations, my friends came into Sonic to ask about some work being done on their BMW, MB's, and P cars.

This was their first experience there, understanding that they moved from the Mountain View location. I was told the front office staff were not very welcoming or customer service friendly and most of all they were all a bunch of kids in their mid twenties or so. Looking into their garage bay my friends said all the techs look super young like babies as well.

After speaking with the front office staff for every question asked by my friends, they were told they needed to speak with Darwin, seemed like they don't have any technical clue...not sure if much has changed since the move but based on all this they are reluctant to have their cars worked on here..

Anyone had recent work done at the new facility and can chime in on what's going on there? I was getting ready to bring mine over to sonic after some really rave recommendations but after hearing this ....

A few months back, they installed lowering springs on my 997TT. They did a nice clean install at a very reasonable price. But this was still when they were in Mountain View.

I've seen a lot of very nice cars come out of that shop, mostly M-cars so I'd be surprised if they wouldn't know what they are doing. The front office folks may be clueless but the techs Im sure are pretty dang good. Don't judge a book by its cover. Good luck!

They have worked on my old boxster.. suspension work and porsche sport exhaust including the oem sport button.. no issues whatsoever, they are young but they know what their doing.. might be a decision part thats why they need Darwin.. I also referred my co-worker with his 997S for exhaust work he was very happy..a few members here get their work done at SonicMS.. very reasonable price compared to other shops.
what does your friend need to get done?

Thanks for chiming in your thoughts everyone. Seems like historically they've been really good from all the feedback..

I wish we could have more info on recent experiences at the new/current location in Milpitas.

My friends and I, are looking at some suspension, exhaust, tuning, and wheels for our German cars. Let me go in there and feel things out myself

Thanks!

Alex, Dan, and James are my go to guys for the Pcar, every experience with them has been top notch. The have treated our cars like their own on every job big or small

My friends also wanted their BMW and MB's modded and felt from previous reputation when they were in Mountain View, SonicMS is the place to get things done. They were hoping Sonic could be the one stop shop for all things German from all the great past reviews, but seems otherwise at the new location..

Try 034 Motorsport in Fremont, I take my RS4 there. They work mostly on Audi, but I have seen plenty of MB, BMWs, Porsche's there as well.

Awesome, thanks 996twin: will pass this along to the guys and pay them a visit. Good to have additional resources and go with who we are most comfortable with, much appreciated..
