Great "run" with a white C5 corvette last night. We were going south on the 680 by Danville. I past up my exit so that we could see what each other had.... performance that is. I came up along side him on the upgrade part of 680 between Stone Valley and El Cerros. I gave him the thumbs up/cool car sign and we both gunned it at about 70mph. I was in 4th and had him tell we approached traffic. We staged up again and this time stayed pretty even but I was in 5th(I should've down shifted). He exitted at Crow Canyon and went west. I exitted and went back north on 680 to my exit. What a blast... mutual respect for nice cars.

I think you could have taken him if you have stage 4.

My wife keeps telling me I'm an animal when I'm in my Pcar. I guess that goes for you too.
My wife agrees too.

What's "stage 4" in Pcar's language

My girl friend said, I got heavy foot when i am setting in the Pcar,
I think because of the engine tone came from rear which feels like a race car for me.^o^
By the way! Happy Valentine's Day everyone

My stage 4 tune isn't working at this time. It gives me an engine failure light. That happened after I got an PSM warning. I'll need to have it looked into. As for the corvette, I had him with stage 2, but not as decisively if stage 4 was working. With stage 2, I get about 1.0 atm of boost. I really could have schooled him with stage 4. When its working I can pull a full 1.3 atm of boost. Scary fast!!!
There is no such thing as a 'agreed upon definition of Stage 4" for Pcars. A few tuners started packaging parts and software to make it easier for people to order, but one tuner's stage IIB is anothers Stage 5.... pay attention to what the parts DO, not what the seller NAMEs it.

Hi Hank,
In pCar talk, the different stages of tune refers to how the ECU (engine control unit or sometimes referred to as engine management unit) is modified. The car's ECU from the factory is optimized for performance as well as emissions. When modifications are added such as exhaust or different turbos, then the ECU needs to be optimized to match these changes. They hook up a computer to the car's ECU and with a special program they can change the ratio of air to fuel in order to get the most preformance. This is done on a dyno and they can optimize it through the whole range of engine rpms.

I know exactly what you mean. The exhaust tone on the Pcar is a lot more intoxicating. Therefore, I tend to do the same.
Thank you everyone
