All Hail the Tile King! (BIG MIKE)
All Hail the Tile King! (BIG MIKE)
Major props to Mike for single-handedly pimping out my kitchen with spankin' new tile. Guys, this soon-to-be entrepreneur (a la Helix) is a Freaking Tiling Machine. He's like a Tile Savant... but can carry on a great conversation. It's incredible!!
I'd also be remiss if I didn't give a MAJOR shout out to Kevin who brilliantly selected everything for the new kitchen. Another God with a brilliant eye!
Since the Philly crew's been hassling noble Mike over the July 4th weekend, I feel compelled to post a few pre- and mid-project photos. The last photo shows the tile in place and waiting for the grout.
Pic #1: BEFORE PHOTO - Kitchen with Minor Demo (and Looking Like Crap)

Pic #2: DURING PHOTO - Kitchen Sub-Flooring Stripped Off (Faith in Mike's Abilities Begins in Earnest Here!)

Pic #3: DURING PHOTO II - Backerboard Set Into Place

Pic #4: AFTER PHOTO - Tile In Place (Grout to Be Applied Next)

The appliances need to be moved back in, the counter top is being replaced, new hardware needs to be installed, and a tile back splash is going on. But you get the idea. Mike tiles like a madman possessed. Kevin can pick colors like a God.
And, to make sure that this post isn't considered "off topic", I brought Mike to the local ice cream shop in my purple 993TT

Stay tuned for final pics once the finishing touches are done!
DAVID

Oh it's not nearly done, I expect to have some of the paint up this weekend and then the backsplash as soon as the countertops go in....you will think you walked into a different house soon

It was all because of your guidance Kev...you are a master of colors and finishes...I'm on overdrive on this project just b/c I can't wait to see the completed thing, like I said hopefully paint can go on this weekend and really kick it up a notch
David seems to think so
A dark brown and then we are going to do the molding in a lighter brown (by 2 or so shades)
