To clarify my previous post, El Gauchos is not horrible. I love the food there. However, their ribs are not good at all. The above post makes it look like I said El Gauchos is horrible

I'd like to add Umi and Mashiko's to that list of good sushi places to try.

Try the Macroni and Cheese at KingFish on 19th. Absolutely phenomenal!

Cool that you have sushi suggestions. We love wasabe bistro but are looking for other sushi places to try out, esp on the eastside. We are going to salish lodge for massages in the morning and then doing breakfast at a french crepes restaurant here in downtown bellevue. In the evening I think we are going to either cook dinner together or grab some good chinese food, and then going out for drinks/clubbing.

Love Mac and Cheese let's hook up for that after we get some photos. I'll owe you at least dinner so I'm always game for this.

they have been open 100 years. My personal fav in seattle. If you are looking in portland check out BanYa in beaverton.

both are fairly traditional food.

Sounds like you've nailed it for a first anniversary. Finish that day with take out chinese and her favorite movie and she'll never forget it.

I went to Maneki as a kid! Didn't know they were still around!

A favorite of mine in Portland would be Murata's on NW Market and Syun Izakaya in Hillsboro, OR.

Sounds great, Mark! Looking forward to it.

How about fondue at The Melting Pot ! There is one in Seattle and one in Bellevue ! I think there is more than 129 locations in the United States, but the atmosphere is not bad at all !

I have not been to either of those in portland.

Honestly when we found BanYa years ago we stopped going else where. The food is fantastic. Menu is about 6 pages in english and if you can read japanese and ask for the japanese menu 8-10 depending what is in season.

I was at Maneki last night. Another fantastic meal.

I'll agree Asado, has the best steak I have had in WA, Buenos Aries is a close 2nd, on weekends, they have Salsa Dancers, the Women are HOT!

Why has no one mentioned Morton's on 5th?
