Proformance?
Proformance?
I just signed up for the Alfa Club beginners school and signing up for their advanced school in March.
would these be pointless to do if I plan on going with Proformance ultimately? Do you have to do their driving school and advanced driving school before progressing on to their lapping days?
Or will they let you slide as long as you've done any SCCA driving events?

No, there a good base, so when you do some Proformance schools you will be better informed & have some track time.
SCCA? Auto-X? That really doesn't count.
IMHO, the CCA does the best "novice" classes.
I'll see you out there this year on the track!

Something tells me that I'll be waiving you and PJ by on the straight!
I'm not fast on the straight, I'm fast in the corners!
Pretty Sure Proformance will not let me ride along, but I can with the other clubs. I did so some instructing.

call proformance and ask them if the alfa school will qualify you for their track days...
I do not believe it will -- I think they are pretty strict about you becoming "their student" for their lapping days... all for good reasons I believe.
I hope in one way shape or form I see you out there... it is a lot of fun.
You are right about proformance ride alongs -- no passengers allowed.

I am not sure about the Alfa Club. I was fortunate enough to have a BMW event count for me. Many of the instructors at proformance are instructors elsewhere. When you go to the Alfa day, I would ask around and see if anyone instructs with Proformance. They often wear their sweat tops/jackets. They might have an answer for you.
I have also found that when the instructor gets in the car I let them know what I am about and why. I let them know I am safe. It puts them at ease and gives them more reason to trust you on the track.
From reading your above posts, it sounds like you'll learn quickly. See you on the track.

I guess I'll call them tomorrow and find out.
I sort of refuse to attend or be apart of any of the BMW CCA events, I'll spectate at Concourse, but that's it. To me, they're the West Baptist Church of the auto enthusiast world aka "Hell and Damnation for anyone and everyone who speeds on public roads"

I've done quite a few ride-alongs at ProFormance -- both as a driver and as a passenger. Is this a new policy ?
They stopped it about the day after the CGT event at Laguna Seca. So whether its "new" or not is relative.
There was an event where a Carrera GT was crashed at a track killing driver & passenger. Lawsuits flying everywhere -- against other drivers, marhalls, track owner etc etc. Sordid details here:

This event, and rather the litigation it has prompted, has scared the beejayzus out of everyone in the motorsports arena...
