I wish it was that easy for a broom handle..I cna't rish damaging the fenders if they are ok...and there is not room under the hood (front) to get leverage still can't get it open

 

Wow, I heard about your accident yesterday on top of Todd's too! It wasn't a good day for everyone..and even Mitchel managed to scrape his undercarriage too when someone forced him off the road. I'm just glad that it wasn't worse than it was. You handled this incident rationally and I applaud you for it. I probably would've done the same too but I don't want to find myself in a scenario like that ever again. It happened to me years ago in my MINI Cooper S up in Vancouver BC. My car was totally undriveable and I had to get it towed back to Redmond.

You handled yourself VERY well bruce. It's sad to see that and her insurance is going to be blown away with how much that's going to cost to fix.

At least he didn't try to hit and run like the guy that did this to my car. My buddy watched it happen and ran him down in his car and got his info for me. It was a fiasco getting him back to where it happened. I told him he had 10 minutes to get his *** back here or else I'm calling the police for a hit and run and that he'd most likely be arrested in front of his son (he was taking his kid to Karate practice). He was back in 5 minutes flat and I got a police report backing me up, just incase his insurance tried anything.


$5,286 in body work alone and another 2 grand in mechanic work (radiator, auxillary fan, core support, labor) in damage.

 

I scraped my X-Brace that's beneath my oilpan (it did it's job). Honestly, I'd rather my car had a cracked oilpan than see Bruce's car in this condition. I've been drooling over that car for years!

waide said he's sorry to hear about todd's car, but he's also glad that it wasn't mine. after painting the calipers for me, he said "i'd shed a tear if it was your car". hehe

 

My hat is off to you, my friend. You handled this unfortunate situation with some serious grace and poise. Not many of us can say we could have done the same. Best of luck with the repair work!

Damn! I could use a lesson from you on how to remain cool and rational. If that had happened to me I'd be under house arrest for assault and recuperating in Harborview from a stroke/heart attack. In fact I'm extremely upset just seeing the pictures of your car. It seems you can't have anything nice anymore without someone ruining it. I'd feel totally violated.

As far as getting into the trunk, since it's going have to be replaced, try a Sawsall or a saber saw.
