April 29th Proformance All Day Lapping
The only way to exit 2b at 90+mph is to brake early into 2 and let go early before the last 2/3 braking cones. With the Cups you can do the sweep at pretty high speed and use the all the track to exit 2b faster.
JR also taught me to even shift into 6th through the fastest part of the kink to get the 911 as planted as possible before braking early into 2.

lol... follow up question:
1-2 seconds is a pretty big difference. I know I am going too slow through 5a-b 6 to avoid being another casualty of the "million dollar corner" so I've only tried the school line.
Do you apex sooner at 5 or apex super late? I'm still trying to come to terms with the rear engine thing
Coming out of 2 at 75 and sliding a little is pretty exciting for me. I'm still getting used to the car and the new suspension and new but old tires. I have no idea what my lap times are and don't care. I just know when I got my line right or not. But I am getting faster and damn, is it fun!
lig you never want to apex early at 5a. Porsche line is the set up before 5a that allows for quicker speeds through. That rear engine thing is what makes it so exciting. Your throttle plants that rear end like Bruces Butt on a barstool. Go with comfort level and nothing else on a race track. It's more fun when you take them home in one piece
THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS.

Thanks - I'm not ever going to make any money at this so I just want to have fun. I'm used to a car that rotates pretty easily but this C2S seems to push initially and then transitions to oversteer depending on that butt-planting throttle action.
A little follow up to the track day...
I was changing up the line a bit and really enjoying the MPSC which I have never used before... huge difference when compared to PS2s.
I met a very nice guy named dave in a "tuned" RS America that was very fast... and after pointing him by, I was able to stick to him and follow his line for a few laps until the session ended... not sure if it was the "Porsche" line, but it most definitely was not the school line.
I am not sure what Dave's last name was but it was a silver RS america with Fikses/hoosiers... our exit speed out of T2 was very close to 90 by the exit cone... which was possible by changing up the T2 line from the school line...
Also took Mark's advice about trun 8 as much as I could... they had a gate set up that we had to go through so I did not get to get too far in... maybe 1.5 cars in from the school line -- much quicker.
had one slight problem...
Exiting turn 2 above 85 mph and coming down the hill into 3A at around 110-115, downshift from 4th to 3rd, blow the heel toe and end up popping the clutch... upsets the rear end and I almost save it all the way -- and I go off track drivers right in 3A... had the "infield" been smooth (bye bye CF Splitter), I could have driven right out and been back on the track at the exit of 3A... but no... just enough of a dirt hump to high center it.
When heading off I was nose first, in control at low speed, both feet in (clutch and brake)... engine cuts out... car will not start...
Towed off the track... Bruce shows up to say hi and immediately swings into action calling Mike Z. who is ten minutes away with his scan tool... I go pick him up and bring him to the track and his tool will not communicate with my car... accessory lights come on... car will not crank and dash warning says something "failure" with a little engine icon...
Turns out that it was a DME relay failure -- weird as we were all suspecting the "immobiliser" system shut the car off... Although Jake at Barrier said there would have been no way to know this without the dealer computer.
So to make a long story short... not a pretty exit

Car is at barrier and they plugged in their computer and it was running in less than one minute -- $230 tow later of course...
(off topic -- mark's new 993TT-S was there and I took it for a spin... that car is fast!
)

I left the car there... new RS splitter going on, removal of gravel from undertray and some other little things...
HUGE THANKS to
Bruce -- for stopping by and for swinging Mike Z into action
Mike Z -- for the effort and arranging the flatbed
In any event -- lesson learned -- got to be smooth...
I need some heel/toe tips in this car... very hard to practice as the pedal arrangment is ideal for heel/toeing when at threshold braking... how often can I practice when I need to be at threshold braking to even really make a decent attempt? Any ideas?
People do it so it is possible... but I need some help in that department...
Mark - thanks for the pointers... they were certainly helpful and I know that prior to my little tiny off... I was faster today than I have ever been and felt like I was in good control until my left foot popped the clutch...

First sorry to hear about your off early this afternoon. Bruce called me when he left. $110 splitter and a tow bill is no biggie. Your learning and believe me I've been off more times than can remember.
PJ heel toe everywhere. Go into every stop sign, light or country corner a little harder and this will do nothing but improve. Around town. In the Country. Getting groceries. Getting diapers for the baby. Heel Toe Everywhere. Use that car hard and practice practice practice.
You stayed up with the RS America or he layed back to help you out? Just thought I'd ask. Those cars are the bomb.
If your car was a different color than blue it wouldn't have spun off.
BTW at least thank me as well for letting your drive my 993. I think it's the quickest car I own now. Can't wait to get my garage complete to bring it home

PJ...glad I could help in "some" way. I hung out just to see if I could assist in anyway and at least give Zaffee a ride back. You had enough on your plate to deal with. Glad that you are not hurt nor is your car really hurt...

Glad to hear that you and your car escaped without permadamage, PJ.
Truly -- I appreciate it.
Man, it was one of those days today. PJ wasn't the only one towed. A guy in a red Turbo blew his clutch. An E46 M3 blew a radiator hose, sprayed coolant all over the entrance to 5A and 2 guys following him. He spun out in it, ending up assend in the gravel next to the turnworker stand. Hung up the day for a good 45 minutes cause he left his tow hook in the paddock.
Me, I just went into 9 hot and early a couple times, sending me wide on exit. The second time doing a little "gardening" on the far side, but kept right on going. Pretty much wore out my brake pads. Well, a warning light for them came on. Bruce said I had another 1000 miles left. I think I just want new pads.
