The Subaru is a great car, the Mercedes is a nice car. I personally think the EVO shares none of these nice characteristics.

Out of your choices: The EVO hands down. The new STi is *** ugly.

My choice for a DD: EVO, Old STi, 300C (AWD), G35X

Good Luck!

Yep ahhh but its over my budget for a DD!

I think for a DD you really should go with a C350. If you got either the EVO or the STi you'd be too tempted to go all out and mod it. Then it wouldn't be much of a DD anymore. At least that's my reasoning.

I had a 05 EVO great car! SUPER reliable, & stupid fast. I drove the new STI & liked it, a little to much $$ for what you get, with nav & leather it's a little over $45k. That's about $10k more then the EVO.

Why not pick up another 911? There are a ton of 996's on the market, or you can get a real aircooled 911.

Seeing as that's what I drive, I'll have to agree. Cobb just came out with their AP for it too.
Intake, TBE, and AP, and maybe a TMIC, your right around 300whp.

Only available in a 6speed manual though, so not sure that fits given what you were saying earlier. Although you can pick up a clean 07 model for half of your 40k budget......

I would stay away from the C350. IMO, it's a boring car and MB reliability is terrible (at least in my first hand experience). Any 3 series is a way better choice. I went with a used E46 M3 vert myself for a DD. Love it!

Now if BMW is an option the 335I is very nice. Don t think you’ll find a coupe for less than 40K but a 4 door will below or very close to it.

Get a CPO 335i coupe or sedan. You can pick up a CPO coupe with less than 15k miles on it for upper 30s, sedan mid 30s (both w/ premium pkg, sport pkg, logic 7, etc).

BMW used might be ok. Just don't like them at all. But they would be 1000% better than a Mercedes. Unless you live close to the dealership I wouldn't own one of those POS's

Do you have kids? Is a 4 door required? If not I think a 993 would be cool as well. Nice driving and not too expensive
