Idea in the works...

I am looking into finding a shop that has 2-3 bays, installing a few lifts, and creating a "lobby" area with couches fridge and TV for those that want to chill out and just shoot the breeze.

People will be allowed to purchase "memberships" which will allow them access to the lifts etc when they would like to work on there cars. This will be monthly fee that the members will pay to help cover the costs etc. So if your tired of being crammed in your garage, or dont have a garage to work in, this will be IDEAL for you! It will make for a great environment where you can just stop on buy after work and grab a few beers if you like, or talk to other enthusiasts about your ideas and plans for your car or whatever.

So who all is interested in this?

Membership fees are not certain yet (all depends on how many members we get) and location is still in the works. Looking towards the Kent area as that seems to be somewhat central to Seattle and Tacoma, as well as close to major Freeways.

That’s sounds like a great idea I would just hate to find out what insurance would cost…

^^ Hey, I had a similar idea for something like that myself! Sounds like a good plan! As for insurance, I am sure if you can have a legal waiver form signed releasing the LLC of any liability from damage done to the cars by the owners, insurance won't be an issue.

yeah, the first thing that sprang to my mind was insurance, but it looks like you have that covered.

Some storage garages would be nice too and provide some supplemental income. There would definately be some "regulars" if you set this up.

It is soooooooooo much easier to work on a car when you have a lift and air tools.

Cool idea, good luck.

Depending on Location that we find, we are hoping to get some storage areas for peoples "Winter" projects..

The highest the cost would be per person is $100 a month.. and we are trying to setup an account with Worldpac.. so the other benefit would be members get parts at cost + 10% (if all goes as planned)

^^ I was going to suggest something like that as well. You could probably setup with some other distributors if you have a large membership group. Anyways, the beauty of this venture is the low startup cost... GL!

i would be interested in hearing more information about it. it would be a great place to do "do it yourself mods" or even a place to buff your car out without dust all over, etc. my garage is jam packed full, so if we want to work on our cars, even so much as an oil change, it's a pain in the butt to do!

plus, if we had other members that were good at doing certain types of installs, mods, etc., maybe there would be some sort of benefit program to help each other out, etc. even something like swapping street tires for track tires before a day at the track. if there was a lift, etc., it would make it really convenient in a dry, warm location!

part of the reason that i race in the class that i do is because of my tire size. but, being that i can't get my car in the garage to swap out the tires to my stock ones, i just keep running on street tires. i would love a place to take it where i can easily swap them out without doing it in the rain or in the dark!

please keep me updated! sounds interesting!

sounds like a great idea! even in the winter time, during the "off season" when not much is going on, cars and coffee, etc.....it would be a cool place for all of the enthusiasts to hang out, keep in touch, learn about mods, etc!

great idea!

how fun!

of course, if i have my way....i'd vote for an area closer to the e. side, since i'm kind of an eastside girlie! =D
