For a car that no one supposedly likes they are definitely holding their value! It was a tossup for used car convertible bargains between this the XLR-V and the SL55. Of those the XLR-V is the only one that seems to keep dropping into the bang for the buck category!

The cheapest Z8 on autotrader I could find was $87K. I guess that compared to inflastion they've lost some value but AFAIK sticker was ~$100K 10 years ago!

I love Z8s.

Saw a silver/gray 996 that spun out going northbound on I-5 right before southcenter... Big area of standing water in a depression, guessing he hydroplaned. One other car did it too, they were both facing south on the far right lane. The porsche's mirror was dangling off the side. Definitely made me slow down... conditioned sucked out there today!

Damn, I have seen some in the $120k area. Wouldve been a good investment car way back when.

The Z8 is one of those timeless designs that will always endure the test of time. I spotted one at the Bimmerfest and it still looked as fresh as when it first came out.

I love Z8's!! I couldn't find much for less than $100k tho.. but this was a few months back. I'm sure there is quite a range...

From everything I read, they don't handle that well, but honestly who cares. They're lookers for sure!

I saw a Z8 once going to LAX in stop and go traffic. I was next to it most of the time, then a lady popped up out of his lap. He looked at me and smiled, she covered her face.

How do I begin to describe my love affair with this car? A car whose design was based on one of the sexiest BMW's ever ( 507 ) drawn by a genius of design ( Henrik Fisker ) the best BMW V8 ( S62 ) and a 6 speed transmission done right by ZF. It was better in many ways than a car considered by many to be the best car in the world at the time ( 360 Modena). I still can't name a BMW that looks better on the inside than this car!

And Clarkson did not like the Alpina Z8 at all he thought it was confused on if it wanted to be a GT car or a sports car and I agree with him. I much prefer the earlier cars.

I did spot a nice silver 360 driving down Harbor Ave on Alki today... I took a nice long loop in my Turbo... 405 north to the I-90 bridge deck, back to I-5 south and West Seattle bridge, down harbor ave to cruise alki, then back beach drive to Fauntleroy past lincoln park to 509 and back home. Top down the whole time!

Saw a few nice cars... BMW's Audi's, etc.. but that 360 took the cake. You just never get over that sound as they drive past!

Blue GT40 in Lynnwood today, sounded fantastic, this was NOT a Ford GT, real GT40 or a replica? Anyone know the story?
