I know...I took a bunch of pictures of his car at past E@RTC events and talked to him about his car. Seeing it on the move was something else...I could see it for miles long before he even caught up with me (I slowed down on purpose)
on saturday drove out to deception pass. highlights were a red ford gt seen twice on hwy 20 a few hours apart, a red porsche speedster on i-5 south in marysville (no idea if replica or not as i don't know how to tell), and lastly a bad *** red kia spectra (or something like that) with a nissan gt-r badge on the back.
also got the most detailed pricing questions yet on my gt-r. normally i get the obligatory how much did it cost question. but this kid took it up a notch with asking how much i put down and how much i owe on it. what compels people to ask these questions? i can only imagine how tiring these questions get for you exotic owners.

I just say "enough" and if they ask again I just say a couple years of saving. Most people stop asking after that. If they don't get it then I ask them how much their car is worth, and how much they have in their bank account. ha
You should tell them to Google it. Or remind them that its disrespectful to ask such personal questions to a complete stranger, it sounds tough, but at least that way they'll learn.
back to the sightings. I spotted an Ariel Atom in Seattle going down Stewart last night around 6pm.

When people ask me what my cars cost, I don't take offense or avoid answering. They usually aren't asking in the context of me personally, but instead want to understand how the value translates to what they are seeing visually, no different than asking me how fast it is. It's just another data point so I answer the question just as I would any other data point.
Keep in mind some people are looking at these cars for the first time and it would be like walking into a museum and not knowing the difference between the priceless works of art from the mass produced prints. They are merely looking for context.
Sometimes people ask about financing because they are seriously trying to sort out at what point in their life they may be able to afford their dream car. I don't believe in the whole, "if you have to ask..." line because I think people are often looking for a roadmap to their goals and I do what I can to put their questions in the context that's helpful.
I've never been asked what I make or what I'm worth and I think there is a clear difference in the question, so I don't mind the other stuff in the context of cars.

Funny thing is that at the BMW meet today I had someone ask me what I do for a living today. I was honest and told him. I'm okay with sharing some details but if they start asking for my financial statements then that's where I draw the line.
Anyways, random spotting earlier today while driving my Scuderia. Imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery.
