ICE CREAM ANYONE (August 22nd)
DuraCrap? You've got to be kidding me. Not a truck on the road even sniffs the comfort and reliability of a GMC pickup. Ask Uncle Ben how many Turbos he's put in the F350 if its a diesel. He's most likely on his third if he hauls anything EVER. Plus a ford is like driving the 60's pinto in comparison
NICE!!!

Just FYI Bruce and I are working on a new meeting place. Barrier won't be near big enough to accomadate. So i will be posting new location sooner than later.
I think I can I think I can....
Ice-Cream-Dreams-Delayed???
I was engaged by a nice young girl on her way to Metropolitan Market (buying dinner fixings for her father) in North Admiral (W.Seattle) last Thursday and was nice enough to turn and blindly zip across Admiral Way toward the alley and into the left front corner of my P996-TT. Thankfully just a LOT of cosmetic stuff but the car will be @ Barrier for a while (probably getting a factory GT2 nose and tail conversion while it's laying around there). They tell me that the nose (alone) delivers too much additional downforce and that without the GT2 decklid the rear of the car is uncontrollable, thus the need for more downforce in the rear as well....

Hopefully it's done in a couple of weeks + paint and refinished plastic protecto-film whatever on the nose.... (LOL!)......if not I'm going to have to look for a co-pilot opportunity. In other news I found what must be the most ridiculous way to total a Carrera GT ~ EVER....

Yup. She was AOK as it was a low speed impact.... but as Bruce will attest to after redoing his ride.... 5mph is all it takes to blow the front radiators and the light assemblies plus the underside of the fenders and etc....
What's more, I had Bel-Red Auto Rebuild teed up to respray the correct color on the nose of my car (today!) and then have Joey @ PP recover the front of the car to prevent chipping and just got a bigger "rock chip" than I bargained for...
After totaling a couple of Gixxers in my career it's no problem to have a "nothing" event like this. The two guys who trailered the car to Barrier were Sturgis aficionados and they smelled like it. Worst part if it was that I missed dinner with my two little boys that evening and wouldn't see them for 4 days since we went to Vegas the next Friday afternoon. The photo above is totally for kicks. She drove her car to the grocery store, got her citation from the attending Park Ranger and I will get a little more than the aforementioned re-spray as compensation with probably 2-3 weeks wait time. Somehow playing craps until 2am both Friday and Saturday evening made me feel so much better. My wife is an ANIMAL at the tables.
Barrier will let me know what extra "sales tax" might be involved in the GT2 conversion since they have the car and I'd want to use the correct parts. We'll see what happens.

mark,
just a suggestion if you're still thinking about a larger meeting spot....when we've had large groups (20'ish cars) in the past, we've met at the whole foods parking lot in bellevue in the back. it's the one over towards barrier.
there's been plenty of room plus it's easy to find and easy on and off access to 405. =)
i think that photoshoot day i did awhile back had many cars and we all were able to fit just fine.....plus they have an espresso stand in the store for those that aren't quite awake yet! =D
