Your link, found me this link: Police License Plate Scanner

A Canadian officer demonstrating his car's 4 camera "ALPR" system. While the usage he's discussing is benign, I can immediately see all the revenue generating ways it could be abused as well.

Here's another video: this one from Florida

I find it humorous that the 2 videos are running the same script but different pieces of software.

If I could trust the local governments to use these responsibly I wouldn't mind them, but the fact is, I don't trust them. I fully expect them to be more interested in revenue than safety or privacy.

OK I'll admit. I didn't listen to or watch much of the Video. The only thing I noticed is the Fat *** cop doesn't have his SeatBelt On....
