I was just looking at the photo page at Cars and Coffee for yesterday. The blogs are right, attendance was only about 20% of normal. As I look at some of them, there are cars that I see that would fit really well at RTC, such as the Ford GTO, which is not European, and a few others. (personally, I would have loved to see that Gremlin, but not at RTC as it brought back a lot of old memories). Some of the cars in the C&C photos are really cool. Our sincere wish is that we don't have to police the show, that as someone wisely posted earlier, that the spirit is exotics, if you have concerns, feel uncomfortable, ask, chances are we will say yes, but be respectful to the intent. Yesterday did work as those exotics who had to go to the overflow area arrived late and a few less exotics who got there early, so what, we still had fun. I also think because there is such a demand for a free-for-all that Southcenter should be supported as something different. For those who really want that type of event, then please support it so it too can have its own identity and become that show where the JDMs can focus their attention and brag about speed and stats all day. We want to attract spectators, we want to give RTC a reason to invite is into the center circle with open arms and help commerce at the mall, possibly raise money for a charity or two. We want it to become something people want to come see on a Saturday morning because they would never feel comfortable walking onto a showroom (been there myself) to see some of these cars and can't ever get access to an owner to ask what it's like to own one, or even take care of it. I constantly get questions that start with, "I've always wanted to ask someone who owns one of these,..." Paul has it right, we're trying to build something special that gives back. We're trying to share why we're so excited and feel such passion about spending big dollars just to get from one point to another. Why we're passionate about a particular car any why we had to have it. We're car guys with a specific passion for a brand, a model, or a type of car and in this case, we're focusing on exotics. Get over it. Southcenter needs to define itself, and continue and if it needs my support somehow to be a success on its own, I'll try and do something, show up once in a while if it helps, I don't know. This can't be Southcenter or kiss RTC goodbye. Lower the bar too much and we won't get the really rare cars at RTC, raise it too much and we exclude too many people. I hope C&C survives. It's something I really look forward to attending when I'm in OC but before you get on my case for having such a hard time pinning this down, please start there and go through the history of what happened. Start with Crystal Cove, read about the history of that show and why it got kicked out. We may get to a point where people register, or we come up with a point system, who knows. We're still learning, and we're not going to get it 100% right no matter what, so give us a break and back off a little, however, do share your ideas because we don't have it solved yet.
lol my username says it. so who has the fastest most modded car at the meet. ill be sure to check it out when its a nice day. yeah most dont wanna race for fear to have there pride hurt. but exotics are nice just dont like how some ppl in this forum feel that they are superior
The second posibility is that you were raised watching fast and furious and believe that movie to be the word of God himself. From wanting to smoke exotics to boasting about your car its obvious that you rather display a narrow scope of the car scene and attempt to provoke other car owners. It is this fast and furious generation that has contributed to many deaths and accidents over the last several years.
I have always believed that if you have to make a conscious effort to prove yourself, outdo others, and boast your achievements, you probably don't belong with a group and most likely won't be accepted despite how hard you try and how much you talk. We are a pretty close knit group and get along really well but we won't put up with individuals that come on a public forum talking about illegal activities as that brings a negative light on the whole crew.
I will give you the benefit of the doubt and presume that you are a young wet behind the ears kid that is in love with his teggy. I was once into the jdm scene but never did I have the ***** nor did I have the nerve to disrespect other cars and their owners. That is just downright childish and immature. I'm sure your time would be more well spent studying for the WASL vs. Being on here.

We can do themes, even invite groups of non-exotics for a sub-section where they can both meet each other and still be a part of everything else. That way if a group of Mini owners recently released from house arrest want to congregate in their own mini-Mini group we can somehow make that work. If it gets out of hand, RTC won't want us there so we've got to tread lightly and keep working the problem.
You first have to tell us all about your car so I know what I'm up against. You're also responsible for half the track rental and all the things that go along with it. I'm guessing it should be about 10k for the track that day.
Try that typeLryan. woops I've assumed your car can take a corner at 120mph

did someone say race?

Ok Tommy I'll call a truce until we meet. Now my Mini's in. My bracelet will be cut off and tied to my dog. But we saw your green car so don't forget to bring something else exotic. You know people won't want to see the same cars over and over and over and over again. Heck I might even take another car besides my Mini once.
Oh and TypeR I think you should step back and re think that comment to CrazyRuskie. "why are you here" Are you F#%king kidding me. This is a car community of people that love cars. His black car is the first and only Japanese car I've ever liked. Plus it's shiny clean all of the time. He is the type of person that will hang out with me for a long time and BBQ this summer at my house and I just don't think you're that type at all. Plus he's Russian mob and his people took care of me in the joint.
People are what this forum is all about and the cars are to get us places. You guys need to figure this out. I've stated before "who cares what someone drives"
So if I've offended anyone. I'll buy you a coffee next time I see you. Black Coffee. No Cream. No Sugar. That's all. None of this frilly "Bolt On" crap like half caf no foam sugar free almond mochas with 5 shots. I'm just not bringing that type of cash. I'm sure I've offended more than I think

Love Jason's pics of Bumblebee! Awesome looking car Kuzi. How do you like it compared to your other cars ?
TypeRryan:
Here are a few FREE tips to follow.
* The word "I" is always capitalized.
* New sentences begin with a capital letter.
* There/they're/their. Simple rules to follow, look it up!
* "People" has vowels in it, not too many to remember if you take the time.
* "I'll" is an example of a contraction of two words -- remember to put an apostrophe to signify that letters have been dropped.
There are other things you can learn at school (please, for the love of God, stay in school) -- but, following just these few tips can make you seem less like an ignorant teenager dealing with inadequacy issues.

. Care to eat up a a porsche 996 with some bling wheels, body kit, and a 200lb sound system (otherwise stock). You need to understand, the people here are friends and have common interests. You two are on a different level.

I went to bed last thinking things had calmed down, apparently not.
Many of the comments---or complaints are from people that didn't even show up yesterday. There are a few people on this board that are simply trolling, poking that stick into the hornets nest just to see what comes back.
I would dare say that most of the people that attended yesterday had a very good time at the event. Look at those pictures, look at the attendance!!
Please come to the next E @ RTC and help us make it even better. We would like constructive criticism from people that attended the Feb 14th event, not negative comments and attitudes from people that didn't attend.
If you want to race, set up your own car event at Pacific Raceways.
