Bye bye Porsche . . . Hello Audi

Well, the 993TT is no longer part of my family I took it down to the Audi dealership this morning along with my 08 Subaru and traded them both in on an 09 S5. On the hour drive down, I was really wondering if I was making the right decision. Though about turning around and going home, but once I pulled into the dealer lot, I was convinced I was making the right choice.

The new S5 is such a great car. Not anywhere near the speed of my 993TT, but more than enough for me. It's not like I used that speed anyways.

I was waiting for a Black S5 to come in next week, but I got an email from the dealer a few days ago and said that they had another one that someone backed out of. The color was perfect and that was that.

The car is pretty much loaded. The only option it doesn't have is the adaptive cruise control. Not like that mattered to me. I love all the features they are putting into these cars now. I loved my Porsche, but it just didn't have all the cool stuff. The Audi Drive Select is a pretty cool feature. Lets you adjust suspension, steering, and throttle settings all with the touch of a button. You can definitely tell the differnce.

Here are some quick pics I took. Was getting dark, so not the greatest. You have to see the color in person to really appreciate it. Both my wife and I were unsure about it until we saw it in person.

The Recaro child seat fit perfectly in the back. Interior is black, just bad lighting.

The carbon fiber option on this car was a nice touch.

Congrats, David. The S5 is absolutely stunning going down the road. I love it when one comes up in the rear view mirrors - they look fantastic. Just a catback and the sound is intoxicating as well.

They ran out of white paint over in Europe. They heard that some guy in Gig Harbor keeps ordering cars in white.

Looks great David. Completely understand the need for change but sad to see Whitey go. Now, just some tints and film for the S and you're set.

Awesome car, David. Get an extra set of wheels with snow tires and you'll be bulletproof all year long.

Congratulations on the new ride David.
I'll miss seeing the TT, but I agree with the new bells and whistles.

Cheers,

Brian

Thumbs up

At some point you just need something new, regardless of how incredible your current machine is. You've made a great choice. I've been drooling over that Audi for some time now.

Sweet car David. I'm sad to hear the the P-Car is gone, but the S5 is an amazing car. Can't wait to see it in person at an event.

Congrats Neighbor!

That is an awesome looking car.

This "Audi Drive Select" sounds interesting -- my S6 desperately needs that feature. Does it allow any changes to be made to behavior of transmission (shift-maps etc) ?
