They discovered an oil leak and don't yet know the cause. There are two possible sources but both require an engine pull. It should be interesting. I'll have Josh show the cause too. We won't hide anything that's uncovered.

tommy buy this one while your oil leak is getting repaired. it's been on ebay for 5 days now with no bids at 199k starting. it's always good to get a back up. this one has 495 miles

Calling Jim a d#$k because he pointed out your car was "born from tractors" was a bit over the top I'd say. Aren't they born from tractors?

I definately haven't figured you out yet but you need to take this stuff a touch less personally. You seem to love the attention of your car but take offense to every little tiny comment about it. The NW section has fun with all and if you don't want to be in the spotlight you should really post less about it.

Jim isn't a d%K He's a great guy. I'd say it's best to stay out of the kitchen if you can't really take the heat. That was a very odd personal attack IMHO

Seems to me you'd have saved a chunk of money taking the 640 down to Sumner Tractor they do John Deere's and possibly will find that little leak much faster and cheaper. Plus I'm sure they've got John Deere touch up paint if they scratch your car in process. I don't think it's called Verde Ithaca there.

Mark, I've come to learn that's what you do. Just sit back and take shots at everyone, so I'm use to it already. Those that know me know I'm comfortable with or without my car and could care less about the attention. At E@RTC, I spend most of my time helping get cars parked anyway. You've never come up to help with any of our events, yet you've been taking shots at everything we've tried to do from the beginning. I've been PM'd that it's just who you are and to not take offense at it, so I don't.

I had one very clear observation when I came on 6Speed and that was that there was a hell of a lot of brand bashing in such a small community. In OC, the car community is large enough that there are hundreds of activities to be found with each brand so even though there is the same brand bashing, you can simply plug into an activity and not worry about it. It got out of hand over nothing at Cars and Coffee. The F guys hate the L guys, the L guys hate the F guys the P guys hate the F&L guys and so on, and it's just cars. Who cares. Up here the community is much smaller, there is more overlap, but what surprises me is that the same crap goes on to the degree it does. I knew full well I'd get my share of it just pulling together E@RTC and I did. It goes with the territory.

I debated the issue of an oil leak being opened up to ridicule on this forum but I've also met a lot of people who do have a deeper interest in the cars and don't treat everything as a joke. I've walked through numerous brands where a car was in for a major repair but that the owner didn't want anyone to see it. I always thought that was a shame because I wanted to learn something in the process about that car. For that reason I decided to go ahead and let my car be the subject of a tech session when it couldn't look worse. That's hardly making me or the car look favorable, wouldn't you agree?

I don't know this guy, yet as you can read, he freely bashes me personally and I don't recall ever meeting him and I've never met you. You can certainly portray me to look any way you what. I've learned it's what you do, so I don't let it bother me.

As for the car in Florida, that car has been on the market for a very long time and I don't know why. It was built in either December 07 or January 08. It doesn't have some popular options and the green seats have never been all that popular on the west coast. There were seven (possibly eight) green cars built in 08, and two have already smashed up, per our earlier discussion about drivers. One smashed just two hours after the owner took delivery.

Funny! Great Danny it will be good to have you there. I'm having trouble uploading pictures or I'd have some up of the motor out. When are you going to post your pictures from last Saturday's E@RTC?

been busy this week with my school's finals. I'll try to upload them by this weekend. try photobucket or imageshack, they provide easy html code to post on the forum.

Thanks, yea, I expect differences of opinion around brands yet some take it to a religion where one brand is superior to another and something as simple as a flat tire is elevated as proof that some model of car is therefore flawed. I like all cars, so what. I really worried that opening up my oil leak issue as a tech session would create fodder for some and that's what I wanted to stop because if it continues, others won't open their cars to similar tech sessions. As much as some want to make it about me, they miss the point entirely. I'm thrilled that we pulled together so many different brands for E@RTC and that they are getting along as well as they are after all the crap we took. Most of it came from those who never attend anyway, and I didn't want this to be the case too. Anyone who tries to do something nice for the car community will get critics and personal attacks, and that I expect. My issue is keeping the brand discussion elevated as much as possible so we can all learn something.

tommy tommy tommy
i don't brand bash. i also don't sit back and take pot shots at people. i simply point out the bad or good. you calling Jim a dick was bad. I called you out. I also pointed out like all have figured with you is you don't do criticism well. case in point 50 of 100 of your replies are defensive.

it's great you're opening up your oil leak to everyone to view.

you are correct that most won't say a word about any repairs. this thread alone will cost you possibly 4 or 5 potential buyers of your car just because of the way people feel about high end cars and repairs on them. documented or not it's just the nature of the beast. I'll be honest I'm shocked Lambo of Bellevue wants people in there bays. I'll also be the first to tell anyone I'd rather a mechanic fix's it and I drive it. I don't want to learn about them. Give me 50 miles in a car and I'll give my opinion. Give the car to a mechanic if there's a problem. I won't fix my toilets either. Just don't have that desire.

you know i haven't gone to your event for 2 very simple reasons. a) my PO won't allow the bracelet off and I can't leave Pierce County and 2) you've excluded my mini from exotic. You Brand Bashed it hard. Told me that no one would ever want to see it. I bet people in the Mini section on 6 speed would disagree. I don't know the post number but it hurt and hurt deep. well ok #3 and most importantly it's 7 hours after my average bed time and it's 1 hour away. Don't take offense to that. I'd have to get my son up and miss cartoons one weekend or leave my girlfriends side the other. Neither of them take a second spot to drinking coffee in a parking lot. Though I do like a good cup of coffee.
