Roman what a story. . When my 993 TT built was completed I wanted to drive across to Kansas to meet the builder and drive the car home. But somehow couldn't bare the thoughts of driving thru the empty midwest. You're a totally nuts dude. But hey I would drive an R8 almost anywhere. Lets chat more later.

WOW Roman, what a post. Very epic trip, and a lot of luck with the tow truck driver that was OK making the 800 mile trip to Seattle with you and then the 800 mile trip home alone. (Granted he's getting paid, but that's one hell of a trek)

Can't wait to see that car when she's healthy again!

Thanks for the comments, everyone. Glad the story was interesting, even across the Pond. Definitely a trip to remember, and a lot of luck with the tow back. Luckily no structural damage, just a new front bumper, some underside paneling and cooling components. A blown tire might have been worse, actually. Hopefully all completed next week sometime.

Vince, I hear you on how crazy this trip is the way I did it. When you and AWD do your R8s, I recommend you either take I-90 instead of I-94, or at least drive through No Man's Land during the daytime. Or I guess an enclosed carrier would work too

Wow, Great story... Would love to see the sc in the car! Now I just have to convince the old man to put one in too... If you don't mind sharing what was the cost of putting that in?

Sounds like quite a time... I guess I am going to have to break down and get the SC for my car now. Although the trip might be fun, I think I will have my local tuner install it instead. Hope you get your car back soon

didn't see it mentioned anywhere. what the hp it's putting out now? also, great wheels! i did the same route from seattle to mpls in my z06, jeep srt, and rs4 last year. 2 days each time. luckily the raccoons didn't get me. and only 1 ticket in montana for $20.
