You're right. Seeing as his is a 2010 model and Mine is an 04, they will not work. I think the switch from R53->R56 was 2007.

 

This is Lyles car he just had it wrapped and it looks like this.

 

That looks pretty cool, but a little too white for me. That would be back to black again after one day in the rain up here.

I've been e-mailing back and forth with Lyle. I want to have the roof, handles and gas cap done in black. The mirrors I'll just swap the caps and call it good.

 

A few more quick pics. I've been painting a few pieces myself. All I have left is the passenger side mirror cap and side marker and both door handles. The roof I'm going to have done with vinyl. It'll also look much better when my black mesh grills get here....

 

You've been busy James. It is looking very good. Looking forward to seeing the completed transformation.

I've got the other mirror cap and side marker off now. Don't know if I'll get to the handles tomorrow or not. Those are a bit more involved to get off....

 

Oh and the best part of this car, aside from them being so easy to work on. I'm at 300 miles on this tank of gas and still at 1/4 tank left .

wow, you didn't even bother with taking it off, huh? Plenty of painters tape and you're all set. What paint did you use on it?

 

I was going to take them off, but figured it was just as easy to tape everything off. I'm using plast-dip spray paint. This stuff is a miracle paint. If you screw up, just wait for it to dry and peel it off. It comes right off with no damage or marks to whatever you're painting. I screwed up on one of the side gills as it fell off the hanger I had it hanging on to paint it. So I waited a few minutes for it to dry, peeled everything off and started over.

I'm really tempted to do the roof with this stuff. I have 2 extra cans.
