Still learning the new camera, still have a few issues to work out. Good news is every shoot is starting to get better!!
Black is hard, it is either over exposed, or there is just not detail. These shots are untouched other then brightness & contrast, I tried to do fill flash on a few. I really need to get a 28mm 1.4 lens, my 50mm 1.4 is just a bit to big.
The car was really dirty, but it really doesn't shot up, other then the rims, these were taken right after a Auto-X.

Are you shooting in RAW? This will help with adjusting exposure later. Also, if you're not already doing so, I suggest setting the center focus point and leaving it there. That way you know what the camera is focusing on. In a couple of them, the car looks a little soft. Shooting anything in bright situations is tough. A filter of some sort could help. Either an Neutral Density or Circular Polarizer in either case. The CP gives you some heat effects on black cars.
Back in my younger days I went there a few times with friends. FYI my wife used to do massage in the everest clinic down there. Everest took over the lease or whatever when the loft got shut down

I do use the center focus, for some reason almost all my shots are soft, no matter what the lens. I've been trying to get a couple of ND filters, but every place is out of them. On that shoot, I just used the UV filters. I thought about using the polarizer, but just didn't pull it out. All these shots were done in like 5min.
Next time I see you it would be nice to see what you think of my camera, I'm thinking there might be something wrong with it. Not only are shots super soft, my AF has a super hard time with black, & silver, it will say it's focused, but it's not. This is with a very, nice L lens. Also the colors are not as vivid & true as my old Canon. But I also just updated the firmware, & am hoping that fixes it.
Here are a couple I took today, & the other weekend. No adjustments, other then bright/contrast & sharpen with the Canon software.
Should I leave "highlight tone priority" on all the time?
