Photoshoot: A drive with two Scuds

It was a nice day today so the three of us decided to go on a drive through the Snoqualmie Valley area with a stop at Salish Lodge for lunch. I didn't get any pictures of Steve and his trusty BMW. But we had this view of this helicopter flying over the Snoqualmie Falls river.

My delicious chicken pot pie lunch

Steve's turkey provolone sandwich

Parked out front

Vic getting ready to go

After we drove about 2.5 hours through all the back roads in the valley, we stopped to reconvene at the gas station before heading home

Nice keychain

As we got on 405, a funny thing was about to happen.

Not this

I got a text with a picture from a friend of mine asking "is this you?"

Puzzled by that, I looked over my shoulder and realized that it was my friend who had spotted us driving! I took a picture of her. I like her color! :dizzy:

Time to head home!

+1... I hope to be lucky enough to drive by Jason someday on the highway so I can have some quality pictures of my car for once!

You'll have to cruise 405 and then you might get lucky. Seriously though, we should arrange a photo shoot. Is your S4 all finished yet?

I would be honored to have a real photoshoot with you at the helm! My S4 is almost where I want it... the rims don't quite match the mirrors/trim as close as I'd like, so I'm trying to decide if I should coat the mirrors to match, or just leave it and find some other trim piece to paint. I don't like too many colors going on.

My 997's Tech1's are officially in production, so I'm waiting on those and my GT2 side skirts and "smile" grille to be completed. (special dry CF)... no idea how much longer that'll be!

Not to hijack the thread, but here's the S4 so far...

Obviously my iphone is no match for you.

Your S4 is looking good! I saw those wheels at MU when they arrived. Weird finish I thought...you should get the wheels refinished to match the mirrors not the other way around because then it'd match up all the other chrome trim pieces throughout your car.

What is the "smile" grille you mentioned? You mean the vent for the front of the hood?

Yeah, the thought of having to re-do these wheels again is not super appealing to me. lol. I think I'm done messing with them...(This is my 2nd time changing the color on them) I actually like the way they turned out, I just wish I could tie them into the car somehow. I'll probably just end up leaving them or maybe just doing something subtle like the Audi Rings in the same color.

The smile grille is the vent for the front hood, I've seen a few turbo guys add it to the car. Thought it might be a nice touch to finish it off.

That's what I thought you had in mind. I'd advise against doing it since it'd mess up your aerodynamics by giving you more downforce up front. Unless you plan to change your rear wing I'd leave it alone. I was going to do it to mine until I found that out.

Interesting... do you know what speed that starts to take affect at? I already changed the rear wing (just stock CF) and don't want to do that again!

I don't have actual data on that but I'm not messing around with the aerodynamics especially when triple digits are involved. I want all the stability I can get at those speeds not that I should be going that fast anyways.

Hey, why didn't Vic's lunch get photographed?
Did he hold out for In 'N Out burgers?
