Hey, is anyone making plans to go down for the inaugural event next year? I've dreamed of going to an F1 race and now that F1 is coming to Austin, it's within reach.

Road trip anyone???

I was thinking about going, however, I'd probably fly there instead of driving.

I guess I should not have said road trip as I'd likely fly as well unless someone needs a copilot/driver in one of their cars

I'm in....a couple friends from work are also going.

 

As soon as the 2012 date is announced, I'll be looking for tickets.

June 17, 2012 is the date assigned to the United States Grand Prix! WOOHOO. Sarah and I are definitely going. I know Jeremy and Melissa said they wanted to go also. Who else is in? I don't think GP tickets are on sale yet, but I'll be looking for airfare and hotel info ASAP.

 

we are in, you won't be able to book anything until 10 months out. So everyone has time.

Looking at track layout, where might you all be looking to get your seats?

No idea yet. I saw a post on another forum that tickets might be a zone format where you get GA tickets for field seating in certain zones unless you buy grandstand tickets which are outrageously expensive ($1k+). I think the tickets are also season tickets where you get tickets for that one area for all events at the track for the entire season. I'm signed up for updates from their website so we'll see.
