Those pictures are the old Columbia River Highway, that section with the curves is called the Rowena Curves. The last picture is from the viewpoint
on the top of the curves of the new highway I84.

I'm thinking about doing ^that loop in September. Would be a 4 day trip. Washington, Oregon, and Cali coastline with some awesome roads including Hwy 299 through Northern Cali. Will be staying near Coos Bay at a nice hotel/casino the 1st night, Redding the 2nd night (In-N-Out Burger!), and Eugene the 3rd night (Ninkasi Brewery).

The M3 is gone. I've got a '12 MDX Advance now. So, I won't be able to drive as spiritedly as usual, but should still be a blast.

This is last minute but I just found this while looking up old episodes of Top Gear. The guys at Final Gear (site that host the torrents for top gear), have decided to run the Loop August 11. Might do it with them if I feel game in the morning. Long drive but lots of fun.

How about Hiway 20, on Sunday September 2. Out to Sun Mountain Lodge for lunch and back... Chime in if you're up for this one.
