First of all please feel free to laugh as this was just pure stupidity on my part. I was taking my son to a birthday party but we were a bit early, so with idle time I decided this ditch would be a fun way to test out the new Range Rover. Of course I asked my 3 year old if he would like to drive in the ditch and got a resounding YES!!!!!

So we approached this not very steep ditch and went in slowly. Other than just making a really dumb choice in the first place I think my speed was my major problem. The ground looked solid but its was super soft. This is the result.

the end result was a bit of a hurt ego and a small tow bill for my childish mistake. Looking back it was a bit of a laugh.

while its

slight ego killer, in the end no one was hurt and it was kind of funny. You live and you learn.

Many years ago I was driving to work through a rural area and had to take a leak. I think it was the light rain that triggered my body's response. So I figured I'd turn off on a side road and just run in the bushes. Needless to say the road I turned down looked like it was paved but was in fact a dirt road. When I tried to brake, the car slid in the mud and got stuck in a a small ditch. This was before cell phones, so I had to walk back to the road, get a ride to a repair shop in the next town, and then ride back with the tow truck driver. The first tow truck also got stuck, so a second tow truck had to be called. You're right that in hindsight, since no one was hurt it's kind of funny. I give you credit for actually trying to go off-road with your off-road vehicle!

You just need a little more speed next time. No reason you shouldn't have made it through!

At least you have not set your own truck on fire. Don't ask.

Feel better yet
