Acura Legend GS 6-Speed (pics)

Not a “supercar” but a 6-speed nonetheless…

Here’s my 6-speed 1994 Acura Legend GS. It has 139,000 miles on the odometer and is 1 of only 635 Legend sedans sold with the 6-speed manual that year. This car is Desert Mist Metallic with Taupe interior and is equipped with the 230-hp 3.2 V6 “Type II” motor. I have owned it for just over two years and have done the following subtle upgrades:

- Lip spoiler
- Tint 20% sides and 5% back window
- Hrant color-matched trunk mat
- JDM door sill kick plates
- OEM fog lights with PIAA H3 Ion Yellow bulbs
- Stromung exhaust
- Burlwood and leather wrapped steering wheel from Craft Customs

It’s a shame the Legends (at least in the U.S.) were discontinued after 1995, and it’s getting really rare to see any in decent condition anymore. The Acura RL is still sold as the Honda Legend in non-U.S. markets.

I had Scott Chu take some pictures of the car a couple of weeks ago in California. The setting was perfect - a one-laner with very little traffic in the mountains not far from the 101 freeway, west of LA.

Here is Scott's website:

My daily driver (since the sedan GS is a garage queen) is a “twin” 1994 6-speed Legend, but an LS coupe. I’ve owned it since 2003 when I picked it up with 95,000 miles from the original owner. Today the car has about 425,000 miles on it. It’s still on the original Type II engine, 6-speed tranny, and OEM clutch. I recently had the timing belt changed for the 4th time, but a lot of highway miles + OCD preventive maintenance makes for outstanding longevity.

Current pic of the coupe.

That's amazing. I can't believe that any car would last 425k miles, let alone last it and still be in that good of condition!

I loved the legend, I looked hard for one when I was in college. I was never able to find one

Nice Legend x 2!!

I really like the 90's Honda cars. I had a 1991 Accord EX 4-door, 5 speed sold it at 150k miles, zero problem. I regret selling it.

our family had a 93 LS and it was such a well built car. When I first got my license, it was a blast to take it out and cruise the local boulevard. Absolutely miss it and hope to find an excellent example one day.

Wow very nice.

Always liked the Legends, especially the GS coupes, and a Type II 6 speed to boot.

Always heard about the head gasket issues, but I always enjoyed the look and the fact that they're fairly rare now.

Very nice. That body style is my favorite. Mid 1990's Acuras all had very nice styling in my opinion. I still have a 1995 Acura Integra GS-R in black that is in beautiful condition.
