Sorta New Here

Well, I've got a few posts under my belt, but I'm still pretty new here. Figured I'd post up my cars and introduce myself though.

I currently have 2 cars. My pride & joy is my G37 which I bought new 2 years ago. I'm a diehard Nissan fan (my Dad worked for Nissan NA from 82-98). I'm also one of the admins on nicoclub.com. Anyway, this is the G:

It doesn't have a whole bunch done to it, but does have some nice track mods. It's on BC Racing coilovers, and I added an oil cooler, stainless brake lines, Motul 600 fluid (brakes & clutch), and Stoptech slotted & drilled rotors. I like to do track events, so all those mods were so that I could enjoy track events without having any issues.

However, in July, I was convinced by numerous friends to make the change to get out of debt. In fact, that's one of the reasons I like this board so much. It's populated with lots of people that appear to be financially responsible, and looks to be a good place to learn about wealth management as well as cars. So I was convinced to sell my G, pay off all my debt, and be able to enjoy my toys. And since I'm a car guy, I can't just do with a beater as a replacement car while I pay off all my debt. So I picked up this from a friend in July:

It's a completely stock 93 Celica All-trac. This way I can still have a neat car to drive once I sell my G37 and until I can afford something I really want again (and by afford, I mean in cash this time, not a loan). So this is my new "beater". But it's a pretty nice beater car. Only had 97k miles on it when I picked it up in July. I drove it back from AZ (to MN) so I put on 2k miles on the drive back. Been driving it every day since then, so it's now at 104k. Still extremely low for a 93. And it's one of the nicest condition All-tracs I've ever seen. In fact, speaking of which, there were only 81 of them made in 93 for the US/Canada market, so it's extremely rare.

So anyway, that's my story, and those are my cars. And my G37 is still for sale if anyone's interested Once I have enough posts, I'll put up a classified ad on this forum for it.

What car would you want to get after you sell the G? Being a car guy since I could remember I strated with a Rx7, then the 350Z I had, and now the NSX. I think I have finally capped myself on the japanese car market, now I think I want to shoot for an Aston Martin of Ferrari 360......but need a real full time job lol.

Well the whole point of the All-trac is that it is a replacement for the G (for the time being). I've never been debt free in my life, so I'm determined to make it happen, and selling the G is a big part of that. The All-trac is a great little car for a car enthusiast that is trying to dump all debt

Once I'm out of debt though, that's a different story. I've been thinking about it a lot lately, and there are a couple of cars I wouldn't mind having. Aston Martin Vantage or Nissan GTR would be my ideal weekend/track car. I've always had a thing for Lotus Esprit's too, so I might decide to get one of those as a stepping stone to the Vantage or GTR. Another possibility is I may try to find another G37 or maybe 370Z, possibly with a salvage title, and build it into a purpose built track car. But right now, like I said, the main thing is just to climb out of debt. At my current rate, I should be debt free in about 2 years. Then I'll probably spend another 2-3 years saving, so it will probably be 5+ years down the road before I pick up another nice car.

Thanks, but that was actually my 4th color choice for the G lol. When I bought it, I was looking for an Athens Blue one, but I was also looking for a stripped one (still with 6MT). The dealer did a nationwide search and only found one in the country with no options. It was red and on the other side of the country. So I went with the next option up, just a sunroof.

Long story short, but I tried to find one like that first in Athens Blue, then Slate Blue. I had 2 orders fall through on a Slate Blue one after I signed the paperwork. It was a dealer trade across state lines, and both cars got sold out from under me. My next option was to move up to getting the Premium option (bluetooth, ipod, etc.). My next color choice was Black. 2 Black ones with Premium got sold out from under me again, and finally Gray was my next choice. Any more hold ups on getting a car, and I was about to walk away. So it took me about 3 weeks to get one.

6MT's are just freaking rare. So hard to find in the color/options you want. I suppose I could have ordered an 09 instead of getting an 08, but I was anxious to have a new car.
