Next car. S2000 or 350z
I would look for a reliable car for school. My 1st car (18yrs old after graduation) was a brand new Civic since a new one was cheaper to finance than a used one when i first purchased it. During high school i just drove the parents cars or the two siblings. I later sold it and purchased a 2001 Championship White Type-R that was imported to the U.S. after college. Later sold it and purchased a NSX that had everything that Comptech made I/H/E, Supercharger, Brembo Monoblock, Volk LE-37, NSX-R difussors & spoilers ect., Comptech Suspension, Tranny, Harness Bar, 6point harness, gruppe M shifter, blah...blah...blah I literally mean everything Comptech made! I recently sold it paid the home off and now looking for a 997 911tt. That being said i would focus on your education and less about the car now. Get a g35 sedan or something that you can afford to maintain. For those interested maintenance on the NSX is not that bad. It's just when something needs repaired it can be expensive to replace since if you go to the dealer they will charge you 3x the amount. I had my clutch redone with an exedra clutch and cost was about $1,800 dealer wanted $3,500. rear ball joints are $700 not installed. Here's the funny thing. Insurance was like $60 a month and the Type-R was $145 a month. I can see the s2000 being just as high as the type-r since insurance is based on the amounts of claims on a vehicle. So i would say get a 4 door G35
I understand what your saying man but i already got a 2006 g35 coupe about a week and a half ago. Now im trying to decide if i want a cai or pop charger with a z tube and either some lightweight pulleys or an underdrive set. it seems like when i call a shop, they dont know what they are talking about.
Keep the factory intake plus Z tube. I have a pop charger on my 06 and on colder nights its decent, however, during the summertime you feel the heat soak and power loss. Z tube is your best bet. Then I'd buy a MREV2 and 5/16" spacer from motordyne engineering. That's going to be the best bang for your buck with the revup. After that I'd do gears (4.08 or 3.9 from Z1auo.com) and exhaust. Later down the road suspension, lsd, and tires. Then your car will be a grippy animal.
Guys, Im 17 so the NSX is out of the question. The other dat when I was at the nissan dealership, the salesman kept telling my mom how a teenager shouldnt get a sports car and all of this stuff. I agree with him to an extent but im not an irresponsible teen. but anyways, he didnt say anything bad about the s2k so im going to atlanta to look at one tomorrow. If i cant get one, my friend keeps telling me to get a mustang gt but we'll see.
In regards to your post s2k.... Well how tall are u? My bro had a s2k, and it felt more cramed than my z. I fit but only cause he ripped all the seat cushion stuffing out. In my nsx same thing i have no seat cushion. Overall the s2k will out handle the z, imo it looks more aggressive (i put veilside kit on z cause stock i think it boring), s2k has vtec and pound for pound boost both cars and u wont beat vtec. I cant wait to turbo my nsx

Age has nothing to do when you buy a car. When i was 17 ibought a 93 fd rx7, at 19 a new $30000 350z, and by 22 an 02 nsx that ran me about 55k. Point is the dealer is a dick. He probably jyst jealous. While many young ppls do drive crazy, all of do at some points. I got more speeding tickets in my first car, pos 95 ford escort than any other car.
