What would you do, drive it year round or put it away for winter.

 

it is not a track car, definitely drive it all year round.

 

I've purchased a Porsche winter wheel/tire package from my dealer so that the Panamera Turbo can serve as my daily driver.

The factory 20" RS Spyder Design wheels made for winter tires are 1/2" narrower at the rear (10.5" vs 11.0") than the same style fitted with summer tires. I suppose that the reason for this is that the summer tires are 295 section while the Pirelli Sottozero Serie II rears are "only" 285 wide.

What an amazing degree of attention to detail by Porsche! Any other manufacturer would produce the same width wheel for both purposes.

 

I would drive it all year around. I mean, why not....you gotta show it off!

 

there is very little ground clearance with these even when you have the adjustable suspension. it reminds me of my carrera 4s that i used for 3 winters - great when you are not faced with unplowed roads or snow banks in front of driveways left by the plow as it goes by.

with the tight wheel well clearances you will have to be clearing off the snow build up in those wells pretty often. had to do that with the 4s a lot.

of course i am talking about more serious winters up here and in ski country, but picture trying to get out of a Vermont ski hill parking lot at the end of a snowy day - that tends to be Cayenne territory imo

 

I'm sure you're absolutely correct about deep snow in ski resort climates. There, ground clearance means everything.

Where I live, it's not such a big deal and the C4 I had was more than enough to get the job done. I expect the AWD Panamera to be just fine for my level of snowfall.

 

Why would you buy a car like this, and not drive it year round? It's supposed to be a daily driver.

 

Winter tires are a most for this car, in the right climate of course.

 

I will definitely drive it all year round, too.

I have Panamera snow fitments available. Why buy such a pretty car just to let sit?

is there anyone in deep snow country buying one of these - i think air suspension would be a must.

 

The car was made to be driven year round, after all these cars are born in Germany after all....

 

Drive it...that's what it's there for!
