4-Door Panamera Cabriolet in the pipeline?

US-patents have occured. Here are the pics:

Porsche is still planning to build a four-door convertible version of the Panamera, a series of patent applications obtained by Autocar has revealed.
Recent comments from Porsche insiders indicated the car had been cancelled, but renewals and fresh patent applications in the United States indicate otherwise.
The new car has a practical four-door body that, without a traditional B-pillar, has required substantial stiffening to the Panamera’s floorpan and bulkheads to ensure sufficient structural rigidity and integrity.

I could see a 2-door convertible version, so maybe this patent application would cover those product as well. Not sure about a 4-dr version...but you never know. Porsche does have a way of surprising us

agree that a 2-door version would make much more sense, but a 4-door version would make it very special. anyway, i am looking forward to it.

All that four door Pana Cab needs is suicide doors like the mid 60's Lincoln Continental.

I think this is a really cool idea: 4 people that can COMFORTABLY enjoy the open air of a Porsche. The question is: would it have the same high-back sport seats (front and rear) that we love so much in the Panamera?

But I will admit, while I might want to take a ride in it, it wouldn't be on my shopping list...

A few more images. Apparently the design will call for a fixed center roof-line section, but without the B-pillars.

I also saw this on autoworld. I would love to see them pull it off. I was skeptical with the talk of the panamera itself, however they have yet to let me down.
