When my Panamera S was being built I attempted to find a Porsche site to track the build progress. Unlike BMW, Porsche does not provide any build tracking resource to the Consumer. However, your Dealer has complete access to Porsche's Production system which is updated daily and, in most cases, will be happy to share the build status with you.

After your car is built and put on a ship your Dealer can provide you with the name of the Vessel and Port of Origin (Bremerhaven?). After you receive the Vessel name look-up the Shipping Company that owns the Vessel. You can then track the Vessel's progress using several different online sites.

Does anyone remember how long it takes from being on the boat to being delivered? Or even how long the boat ride is to Halifax, NS?

we did receive regular updates during production but the whole thing with he boat....... not so much. We were given the name of a boat then it changed and ultimately it showed up on a boat with yet another name... didn't much matter though b/c we were so excited to get the car after waiting for 5 months......

Mine took about 30 days from completion of production to Dealer in Southwest Florida. It all depends on how quickly your car is put on a boat (shipping schedule) and how long it sits in receiving Port for final prep before being trucked to Dealer. If I remember correctly it spent about 10 -12 days on the boat, including the time the boat was docked in port?

Thx guys.

Just hope it arrives at Halifax port soon. Dealer said 3 days from Halifax --> Toronto! Need the car for an immediate 2000 km round trip journey. So hopefully it arrives.

Btw, I'm guessing 2000 km would be the break in as well? I'm assuming its in the manual -- something like keeping revs below 4000 rpm or not exceeding 160 kmph.

TheRox: when was your Panamera's build date? I am waiting on my Cayenne as well and was told it was on a boat as of Dec. 3rd. Not sure how long to get to Ottawa after that.
I was told 11 days from Port in Germany to port in Halifax. 2 days to unload depending on how busy they are. Then another 10 days from Halifax to Dealer in Ottawa. Then one day of prep. (drain and change fluids, program etc.)

Hmmm...seems like we are hearing different things. From what I gather it looks like it will take some time.

I was told about 2 weeks on the boat, 2 weeks to get to the dealer from the build date.

Yeah, similar time frame. The 2 weeks on the boat probably includes the off loading in Halifax. I was curious as to how you dealer figured 3 days from Halifax to Toronto. Does it go via Rail?

That I do not know, but you're correct -- it does sound rather ambitious. I would think it goes by train...if so, 3 days is reasonable. I was hoping to have it arrive by Saturday for pick up...that doesn't seem likely now!

It has arrived!

Maybe it doesn't take as long as I thought. So from completion to arrival at dealer = 1 month and a couple days.
