6 Week Old Panamera going to Body Shop

I just pulled out of my parking space when the front end shook and then I became very annoyed. This is in the parking lot of the police station and city hall and of course, of the 1000 parking spots, only mine was a setup for disaster. I'll be going to city hall tomorrow.

Ouch.....sorry to hear that. It is not your fault there is no way you could have seen that. Must have felt sick to your stomach when you heard that grating noise when you pulled out. Hopefully the fix is easy. Please document some good before and after pictures. If you do plan to sell the car at some point it will help you tell the new owner know that the reason for the bodywork was this and not a road accident.

I would bet that if you remove it and reinstall it with some TLC it will be just fine. Not perfect, but almost.

Mine went into the body shop at just 4 weeks. I was traveling out of town, a simi had a blow out, and a piece of his tire caught the front end. Was a sad day, but back now and is as good as new! Sorry to hear about yours though!

That sucks, but how is this the city's fault? You didn't see that sticking up 2-3 inches out of the concrete when you parked? I understand that it shouldn't be like that, but take responsibility for your actions. This would have been completely avoidable had you been paying attention.

Can imagine how upsetting this must be. Find the most highly recommended Body Shop that you can locate - preferably one that specializes in working on Porsche. Best of luck!

Ouch. That hurts. A little patch job at the bodyshop will make it like new again. That is one reason why I got the air suspension. I raise it to the max everytime I have to park in front of a parking stall like that.

I agree with you that we should take responsibility for our actions, but something like that is very easy to miss, and if you are already close to it, impossible to see...

I lost a battle with a high one myself a few weeks a ago, very easy to do with this car. 970 is very wide and very long so you attempt to get the rear out of traffic. Now that I think about maybe Dr. Chill's suspension lower after he parked?

Sorry to see that! I wanted adaptive air for this kind of stuff. I am very very careful parking with these kind of curbs. Damn rebab, that is ridiculous, who is responsible for that sh$t job? Hunt them down and make them pay! You might actually have some success! That would have taken out my P4S and my wife's car! Not right!
