Porsche dealer - Dishonest!!!!
Just venting here.
My local mechanic (former porsche service tech) takes care of all my cars. But he has never dealt with a panamera. So, I tried the dealer.
Called my local P dealer to get price on radar hardwire (passport 9500i). Quoted me $140/hr labor and $60 parts. But said he would call back after checking for voltage converter that might be necessary. Calls back saying that he needs to put in the converter and that it would now be $250.
I was fine with $140/hr. Not my position to criticize how much they charge. They are running a business. I get it.
$60 parts....knowing that escort charge $14.95 for the wire, I was still ok with it. Maybe they need to cover themselves for extra clip, wire, etc.
But a converter? Called escort...they said never heard of it. Asked a few people on the forum...never heard of it.
Took it to my local mechanic. He installs the wire for $10part, $45labor. No need for converter. He started laughing when I told him about the converter.
This is not about a few bucks. But just confirming my thoughts about my local dealer who will remain nameless.

You should call them out, the dealers are supposed to be there for us not the other way around. When we spend as much as we do for these cars/service etc they need to know that there are alternatives.
