What to do - new or used Panamera?

Dear all, thanks for a great forum.

This is my dilemma:

I have managed to figure out how to get about 7.5% off with the amex program on a tailored car. I think this is the best I can do in the north east on a P4S, custom order. The car I want with options is about $110k. After discount that comes out to $102 or so, plus tax.

I thought I would be able to buy a used 2010 about 20% lower than new price, after all it must loose considerable money just driving out of the lot and then some over a year of usage. So I thought I should see used 2010 P4S advertised at $110k - 20%, about $90k. Furthermore, if I could get a new one at 7.5% discount, I should be able to negotiate the used car down almost the same. That should indicate a good price for a used 2010 P4S with sticker of $110 to be $82 or so. Looking at what is out there they start at about $95k and do not really seem that well optioned.

What do you think guys. Are my expectations on 20% depreciation after 1st year wrong on a Pana? Or should I be able to negotiate really heavily on the used car prices I see?

If the new 2011 is $102 and a used 2010 is $90 after some haggling, then it seems smarter to buy the new one, no?

By the way, when does the 2012 arrive?

Also, if buying a used one, I think I should go for a CPO one to make sure I am getting one that is in good condition. What general advice do you have for buying a used Panamera?

Many many thanks for your thoughts!

I think it is all about money. I would purchase whatever you are comfortable with. I would have no worries buying a used car - they are all under warranty still.

Hell...take over my lease on my P4S so I can get a Turbo

This is why people buy new cars. It is hard to get exactly what you want in the secondary market. Too bad you have to pay sales tax in New York either way. That would make all the difference. Here in Nevada private party purchases are exempt from sales tax. The way it should be, private.
