X80 Powerkit... worth it?
X80 Powerkit... worth it?
I know there are subjective views on everything from a-z. Looking at a Panny Turbo for Mrs 1Blink... this one has the X80 kit. Looking at another P-T that happens to have one, too.
Opinions regarding overall value of this package? I do like the fact that this is a from-the-factory (ie covered by Porsche Warranty) upgrade.
That said, these cars as-optioned are getting close to Bentley territory in price, which in itself is not an issue/problem. It's also understood that a Flying Spur is NOT a Panamera Turbo (a true sport sedan). There are places for each type of vehicle. We like both, but the Panny is more of a raucous, "kick some serious butt if you want to" driver's sedan that acts like a sports-car that we are leaning towards.
So your input on the X80 kit I'd like to hear.
Thanks.

I have not driven the X80 kit.
I had a 997 Carrera S, and then the current club coupe which is a C2S with X51 kit, +26hp. I honestly cannot feel the acceleration advantage of the X51 kit on regular road driving. At the track, maybe slightly better mid range acceleration. The keyword here is "maybe".
When comes time to resale, a car with powerkit will sell easier, but may not get more money though.
If you're not going to drive the Panamera turbo flat out, I doubt that you can feel the power difference at all.
