I don't undersatnd. WHen I hear reliability, I think of someone keeping a car for ...maybe 7-12 years, which is our plan with our Panamera 4 and BMW 335.

You seem to switch your cars quite often? Perhaps I am wrong. Either way it seems like you picked a bad apple. I don't see much going wrong either a Benz or Panamera turbo over the 4 years of warranty. Certainly not as bad as your previous car.

I usually lease things for 3 years or so and I drive about 25k miles per year. I would be terrified of service costs with a out of warranty car.

Still on the fence - CLS63 vs Panamera Turbo but I now have a strange urge to be green and get a Panamera Hybrid

Fuel pump failed - starnding my wife and kids, pcm replaced 5x, a/c inoperable, ignition switch fails to accept key intermittently..the list goes on...

How do you go from PTT or AMG to a Hybrid??? Focus dude! Forget green! If you really want to know how much waste is created by creating one Prius battery you would hit the floor. "Green" is just catch phrase at the moment stick with the petro.

Anywho, my 970TT has been pretty rock solid save a "transmission fault" gremlin that appeared a couple of months ago. I've driven this car hard since late August 2010 and have racked up just over 20k miles. I've also tracked it a few times. One word, BEAST!!! If I were you I'd go all out, get the Turbo S
and call it a day. Happy driving!

Thanks Ophtho - I'm laughing as I read your post. You sound like my wife listenting to my mind ramble out loud about cars..I wont even mention the transient Volvo thoughts that I had today...

I have about a week or two before I lose my mind and have to choose a car

If your choices are PTT, CLS63 AMG and 4porte there should be no problem in deciding what you want

The decision tree is simple

Do you have snowy winters?
I ........................I
YES ...................NO
I ........................I
PTT ..................Do I care about the cars performance or reliability?
............................I .................................................I
.........................YES ......................................NO (just looks) - 4porte
...........................I
Do I want a sporty performer (a) or a cool glider with raw power and unbeatable comfort(b)?
a PTT
b CLS 63 AMG

Hope this helps.

Be happy, here in Finland we have only 2 years of warranty for cars...

Red430 is infamous around these parts
My 2010 Panamera Turbo has been flawless

So far so good. I picked mine up in Leipzig and it has been perfect since (knock on wood).

Wow, that is an extensive list. Thanks for sharing. I hope not all 2010s hit these issues.

My "check engine" light came on simultaneously with the "fault transmission" warning again. This was after 9 hrs of driving. The "fault transmission" went away on restart. The "check engine" light is still on. I called the dealership and was told it would be fine until I bring it in on Monday to have the new bumper installed and wrapped. Oh well....

I would go Panamera Turbo. I will be getting one in a few years when I trade my soon to be Cayenne Turbo out.

It is this gremlin like behavior that may cause me to get a different car. The damn Panamera is so perfect but these gremlins are unacceptable. On the fence still PTT vs P4S and give wife the xtra cash every month vs CLS63. The Panamera could be the best driver around but the relibilty issue has really haunted me.

My wife is in my ear as well! She said to me "I don't think Porsche has figured this car out maybe you should have waited for the 2nd generation". Her Cayenne has had ZERO issues.
