P4S gone - now what do I get? Quality question for Turbo owners
I am certain the Panamera is the best driving sport sedan out there. The PTT is intoxicating. The reliabilty issues with the Panameras really trouble me. As my wife said "you've found your perfect car but it's not ready for you."
I have a black and black PTT ready to go tomorrow but just wonder if I am tempting fate after all the problems with my last one - that is my only hesitation.
I have dirven the spectrum of cars again in the past 3 weeks - Rapide, Quattroporte, CL63, Jag Supersport. I just drove a pre-production Jeep SRT tonight and might lean toward getting the Jeep as an extra car now and wait for the '13 model year before grabbing a PTT.
That's the update - hot off the presses.

Anecdotes aren't data. The internet will bring together all the people with problems while the people with trouble-free examples will have no reason to complain.
Data from mined responses from Panamera owners show great satisfaction and both initial and long-term quality as excellent.
Also — most of the few malfunctions reported are fixed promptly and the cars are back in the hands of owners the same or next day. It is just not as "scary" as some posters perceive it to be.

No question that first year cars might have a few niggles and updates, but I don't think that the Panamera is a car with major issues...
I need room for 2 car seats in the back. CTT would be tight.
You are kidding, right?
The CTT has more room than the Panny for the car seats. I have a 2011 CTT as my daily driver, and drove the Panny 4S for 3 weeks while my car was in service. As a parent of a 3.5 year old and 21 month old, the room and cargo capacity of the CTT is much better than the Panamera. YMMV I guess...

I would rather have a car and not an SUV. My bigger question is why the heck was your car in service for 3 weeks? Sound like my panamera..
No, there wasn't an issue with my CTT at all.
I took it in to get an oil change (nearest dealer is 2.5 hours away) while on weekend holiday. They couldn't fit me in on a Saturday and I had to leave it. They gave me the Panamera as a loaner. Stayed there a while while I had the stainless steel skid plates installed. Total time was 2 weeks. Had to wait another week to get back up there.
Loved the Panamera. Thought about getting a PTT instead of another CTT. But, the functionality of the CTT won over.

dhh, of corse I think you should get the PTT but you have a habit of making cars do odd things, so get the jeep and settle into that ownership experience and then come back to the fold with the 2013.
After searching the country for a PTT with my specs and comining up empty. It appears I am ordering one with a 8-9 week build and delivery time.
It seemed like an easy request to find a relatively basic car but no such luck.
Going with
Basalt Black
Cognac
Turbo II rims
Sport Chrono
Sport Exhaust
Rear Camera
Roll-up shades side+rear
Tineo wood +Tineo Wheel.
That's the final word on this adventure. Thanks for all your input.

Awesome!!! Just to update you, the transmission fault warning and check engine light were due to the VIN# not being loaded into the software. Anyway, I still haven't gotten my car back yet BUT that's partially my fault because I'm traveling.
My former car was the pioneer for that service bulletin. All cars now prior to deliver are supposed to have VIN # and options verified and loaded if needed in the PCM prior to delivery - otherwise you get a bunch of weird warnings - I should know I lived through 5 PCM swaps.
Just to punish me my dealer has a PTT without a rear camera ( one of my must have options) but a bunch of other stuff that I could get Monday - damn - I'm torn. They're kind of begging me to take it.
Should I relax or buy it? I'm not crazy about the 12/10 build date either.

As for the rear view camera, you can do the NavTV2Go retrofit.
