Consolidated Performance Mods Thread - Anyone?

I seem to find tid bits everywhere for mods we have all done to our cars in our posts but I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread of what we've done or are looking for.

For starters I am looking for input on the IPD intake and the Carbon Y-pipe and if they really make any difference.

Thanks.

I have ipd and I didn't notice any difference over stock, they claim 30hp, I don't think so. I also sent my ecu to FVD germany for reprogramming and I can tell you that the difference was quite dramatic, my car will break all 4 wheels under heavy acceleration (which is quite scary!). Only thing I'm still looking into is the race cats, they are just so dang expensive and the install is a b***h, but once done I can't imagine needed anything more.

On your tune..what is the max boost PSI when at WOT? You did right regarding flashing your tune vs piggyback. Piggyback does not work!

I truly don't know, but I'm sure FVD's site reveals this. I went with their system because I felt it was a better all around tune specific to my car & the local porsche dealer works with them and will continue to warranty if their are any issues.

Here is link to the tune on their site - I worked with Rhonda, she was very helpful!

I have a question regarding the piggy back. I had it for a couple of months now. I don't believe the boost is showing anything higher than stock. It hits 0.9 bar for a half of a second than drops to 0.6-0.7 However I do feel more power especially on 2nd and 3rd gear. It pulls much harder than stock. Did you have similar experience or no extra power at all on yours?

Same as yours..would pull hard 2nd and 3rd but once into upper RPM of 4th and 5th it craps out. The reason i know is that i did some 60-130 runs vs a modded (exhaust & tune) M3 and he was pulling on me up top.

Pick up my S in 3 weeks. ordered it with the Sport Exhaust:
I plan on keeping the Valve Mufflers on, so I'll just be changing the mid section and the tips.

These are the Mods I plan on doing:

FVD Sport Muffler
FVD Exhaust Tips
FVD TUNE
FVD Air Intake

Is FVD the only company out their that makes aftermarket exhaust tips ?

everybody makes tips (techart, fvd, meistershaft) you just have to be sure they work with the valves on the sport exhaust. BTW if you already have the sport exhaust, FVD recommends not changing the mufflers and only changing the cats and mid pipe depending on your goals

Yea, that is what they told me, so I am doing exactly that. Im not changing the mufflers. Im only going to change the mid pipe. but I definitely want to change the tips. I do know that FVD makes the tips that fit with the sport exhaust mufflers from factory, need to find out if these other companies do the same.
