The dealer picked up the cost of the new windshield; Because they stated that my V1 would work in the car.

You would likely have to pay the bill otherwise. The cost is unknown to me.

Good Luck, JohnnyB

My dealer replaced the windshield at their cost. While negotiating the price of the car, the dealer stated that the previous owner used a V1 and had no problems; So they stood behind their word.

I don't know the price, you would have to contact a local glass shop. It is very easy to replace and does not require going through a dealer.

Good Luck, JohnnyB

Good point.. and makes sense why I haven't had a problem. I turn K off in every radar I've owned in the last 5 years. I live in South Florida and have found almost zero usage of K band radars by police down here.

would love some feedback on the actual freq used by the ACC. I am ordering a Cayenne with ACC and will be using the Passport 9500CI or Beltronix equivalent.

If anyone has a passport SRX or one of the above, you can set it up (via menu) to display the frequency of radar detected. Would be helpful to know if it is K or Ka (and potential which exact frequency).

Thanks

ACC uses K band. Turn off K band on your unit if you get triggers. Most of the blind spot sensors and Acc use K24.xx bands. Most of the COPS use KA 34.xxx & 35.xxx.

That is how you know that its a cop.

I just tried my Valentine 1 in my Panamera GTS last night, and I was getting a ton of false readings!

My GTS does not have ACC or the Thermal Glass. It does have the Lane Departure Warning System, but I turned it off, and still had problems with my Valentine.

All of the false readings are showing the radar signals coming from behind the car. The V1 has the arrows that indicate the direction of the radar, and again, they are all coming from behind the car while you're driving.

It's very annoying and makes the radar detector useless because you want to ignore it!

Any advice here? Does anyone know if you can turn off the rear radar sensor on the V1? How do you turn off the K band?

One last thing.....the Cigarette lighter in the center console by the gear shifter is ALWAYS powered on, even if the car is off. Is there any way to change this so that the cigarette lighter powers on with the auxiliary power of the car? Otherwise it's very annoying to have to turn off the radar detector every time you park the car, and turn it back on every time you start the car!

Not sure about V1 since I have BelStir+, but regarding cig lighter, most if not all electronics turn off after 10 minutes or so. I believe the cig lighter is the same. I fuse tapped the cig lighter and my detector stays on for about 10 minutes after I shut car down then goes off so no need to turn detector off.

for the V1 - get a phone app called YaV1. You can segment your detector to its full capacity. You can probably disable K bands on it as well. I dont have V1 but everybody who has it tries to segment it to different bands so its not so chatty
That is why I got a Escort Max. Its so quiet until it needs to tell you what it needs.
App should also tell you what band the alarm is on.

Regarding wiring, you have to run a wire to a fuse box. I wrote a DIY on getting ignition power to your lighter
