Yes, high oil consumption is expected in these cars. Same for the M3 the other high performance engines.

My 2011 Panamera has 20k miles.

During the break-in period (first 2000 miles), it consumed 1 quart. After that, I drove it harder, and I had to add a quart every 3000 miles.

After 10,000 miles, it was better, about a quart every 5000 miles.

Now, at 20,000 miles, I anticipate it won't need another quart for 6000-7000 miles.

ive dropped one bar (1/4 quart) in 17 days of short drives to and from work...is this normal?? it sounds excessive
