iPhone 4 not working thru USB

All... Does the iPhone 4 (Not 4S) with iOS 5 work thru the USB? I know it works fine thru the Bluetooth but it doesn't show USB when plugged in with the USB cable for some reason.

Anybody?

Did it work before you upgraded to iOS5?

Choose AUX instead of IPOD. It will play but there will be no display other than the AUX logo.

AUX, you have to have the Auxiliary cable attached to your iPhone, an inconvenience having the USB for charging AND an auxiliary cable for audio.

For that I rather do wireless AUX.

Thanks for the input tho, but I guess the iPhone 4 does not work USB with this PCM, weird 'cause it does work in my other cars.

Thats weird cuz mine works, I use my iphone4 and connect to the USB for the music. Better quality of sound and convenience interface, not sure why urs doesn't work.

Put some music in a USB thumb drive and test it to see if the music can play through the USB socket. Or borrow another iPhone 4 and try it.

Do you have the "Porsche USB cable" or any USB to dock connector does it for you?

I have tried a USB thumbdrive and it works flawlessly. I have not tried another iPhone 4. I could try that tho.

How many PCM versions are out there maybe I have an old one?

Make sure your iphone's output is set to the Dock connector. Double click the Home button, Flick right and set the output to Dock Connector rather than PCM on the iphone.

Isn't the USB connection for the '11 models? The '10 models need the twin cable, no? Mine works fine with the Porsche cable, never worked through USB alone. Cable should have come with the car.

Ive heard about that cable, but people make their iPhones work without it. So at this point I guess I will have my dealer get me one as mine did not come with it.

I'll report back...

Can't get my iPhone 4s music to stream via blue tooth to my PCM. Anyone know how to get phone to do this. Phone calls works via blue tooth but not music.

It's a little cumbersome... Follow the instructions in the manual... After couple tries it works as advertised.
